IGN have posted the third part of their Faction Feature article, this time focusing on the Scrin. These Developer Faction Overviews are written by Jason Bender. Plus you get some inside info from Matt Bitton (Art Direction). Here is a sample.

 

Scrin Faction Overview Jason Bender -- Background Fiction

 

The Tiberium Wars have been intertwined with the fate of the alien race known as Scrin from the moment they began. Little is known about the Scrin, but their invasion of Earth offers some clues to their origin. They are obsessed with Tiberium, an attribute which no doubt brought them here in the first place, and will stop at nothing to harvest every last crystal. Their initial invasion force seems to be geared towards constructing large, mysterious towers rather than destroying the population of whatever unfortunate planet happens to present the next target. Fortunately this allowed GDI to mount an effective defense after an initial assault of staggering magnitude. Kane, on the other hand, seems to have known something about them for some time. Time will tell what truly drives the Scrin, but for now humanity must contend with their vicious, self-constructing force of metallic machinations.

They mentioned how they did the Scrin concept art, by adding insect, mechanical, and alien traits to units, I think they did well with that.

Hmm seems they get a pretty awesome airforce when compared with the other two factions.

 

Considering the fact that most of these units are in some way affected or have tiberium in their systems, does that mean the catalyst missile will effectively be able to destroy any scrin unit? Hmm...
