RA2/Yuri under XP Prof. :(

lo all,

 

i got this error when i will start AR2/Yuri: ***FATAL*** String Manager failed to initilaized properly

wtf is this? i installed the update patch 4 yuri, i rebooted my system, i changed the settings on rightclick on the icon to windows 95 or windows 98/me and the others, but still dont run :/

system specs:

AMD Athlon 800MHz

GF FX5600xt @ 256MB DDR

80GB HDD @ 7200rpm

640MB SD-RAM

XP Professionell...

Try a re-install. That usually clears things up.

I had a problem running Yuri on my laptop, set gamemd.exe (the actual game program, has a yuri icon in the RA2 folder) to run in compatibility mode for windows98/ME and it runs perfect now not sure if you set the right file up for 98 compatibility.

Done everthing nothing helps I also get the fatal string error than when I start up for the second time this error is gone but RA2 snaps back to windows (start-up picture -> black screen -> windows).

I have re-installed, removed everthing as advised, re-installed, under 95 98/ME, xp, nothing....!!! what can I do more...

Can the systems also be to high for the game ? 3.0Ghz, 9800 Radeon ??

i got the f00king error all the time...i downloaded the newest drivers 4 all my hardware...it dont help...but chrama, test it...dl newstest drivers...
