KERNEL_INPAGE_DATA_ERROR anyone had this?

has anyone had this error before? it's the second error like this I have had and I am starting to see a pattern but does anyone know causes/solutions?

 

Edit: the error code is this: 0xC000000E

What are you doing when this error occurs?

 

From quick search around it could be something to do with your hard drive. Possible virus activity. The actual drive could be failing in some way.

 

Read through this http://support.microsoft.com/kb/228753/en-us on Microsoft's support site. It could be also be related this http://support.microsoft.com/kb/330100/en-us but its hard to guess.

I was playing A Path Beyond and the font size changed for some reason so I went into the data folder like one of the mods told me to, tried to find the file he said to find but it wasn't there and when I tried to open a file in notepad notepad froze and so did the explorer window then the blues screen came up that had the error message on it. Thanks for the links I'll try them (it probably is my hard drive, my laptop tends to overheat a lot so something probably melted)

I will also try and run a defrag, at least this only happened once, my last error message popped up spontaneously for about a month.

Its a blue screen error right? Otherwise known as a stop error. These sorts of crashes can be caused by a multitude of problems.

Cool thanks SS and Sonic for the help, I guess I'll have to try and find out how to stop it from clearing IDE code
