Rules of the tournament:

 

Maps - No unofficial maps. All maps will be the ones made by EA. You and your opponent can decide what map though. They have to be 1v1 maps.

Win/Lose - If you win, send the replay to me. ([email protected]) And report to me that you have won, and the loser will confirm this. Please no bickering as like "it was unfair" or anything. If you HAD to leave during the match urgently, you will be allowed one rematch if your opponent agrees.

Dates - The Tiberian Sun has risen! IE: It's begun

Rules of play - No rules except cheating. That is all. Rushing is fair game, every tactic is fair game. I personally think the Mothership tactic is cheap, but it's still fair game, I should have been ready to counter it.

1.06 doesn't have any balance issues attached to it, just a bunch of hot fixes. So its not really worth waiting around for it.

It will be a knock-out. You lose you're out. Hamachi is essentially a virtual-LAN, you join a hamachi network and you can play through that and C&C 3 will see that as if we're connected through a router, thus we can play network games. Less change of a mis-match etc. Link to hamachi, http://www.hamachi.cc/download/list.php

 

Download it, install it, create a name, and join the network "CNCNZCNC3" without the quotes. I'll PM contests the password. You can test it with me or someone else and see if it works. And that way we can determine if there's going to be an issue before the tourney begins.

Could we extend this even further at all by creating a part of the site dedicated to this tourney.. perhaps we could get reports from the winner on each game.

 

It's a shame Zee is having trouble getting online. I could not think of a better person to actually commentate on these games and have the replay cast with his voice in it, the amount of jokes he could make and the variyng degrees of seriousness would be great

 

Although I think Zee could do commentary to the semi's and the final if he were to use fraps or something to do some post game commentary. I think that could be quite witty and interesting.

 

I dunno, I'm just thinking we could put a little extra spin on things.

 

Also, would it be worth advertising this on the main page to bring some more interest forward. At the moment we only have 3 people, and it'd be great to expand it further if we struggle for signups.

I never really took on the fact that you guys would be so supportive of this! Well, we could. But I have a strange indication that Zee's parents are gonna keep him off for a long time... But yah, I'll extend it. I never really set a definite date anyways.

 

As the extra attention on the main page, I donno. I thought this would be need frequent CNCNZ.com visits and regulars. If we advertise this on the frontpage, we'll get people from gamereplays.org and other sites that just want the prize. They get knocked out I doubt they'd stay a member here, they win, I doubt. I donno, your call on that one.

My vote is for 'invitation only' atmosphere, like originally stated, players must already be part of the community. At least for the first one... it can be our tournament beta!

 

And thanks F15 for thinking about playing too... now I have someone to battle for the wooden spoon! If you don't have enough Tshirts to go around... maybe the worst player in the tourney can get a Renegade Mouse Pad!!!

 

I like the idea of some commentaries on the games - or maybe some the finals like suggested. Or maybe someone with the time and inclination can do a 'best moves of the tourney" montage.

gohan is kinda gone like I live near him and haven't heard from him in like forever think he's on vacation with boomer who had some firewall issues with his parents so neither of them are really in and boomer's comp is too crappy to play cnc3 anyways... but I think it's good that u guys are doing a tourney, is the spectator thing out yet?

Lets break it down shall we. I've played up to mission 5 of GDI (I think), never looked at the Nod missions yet. Play a total of 2 games online (wasn't fun), and now I haven't even loaded up C&C 3 for over a month now.

 

Do you think I'm ready to play and actually give someone challenge?

 

Plus I'm the one putting up the prize, that's my involvement.
