Ok well I just re-installed RA2 and YR after about a year of not playing. I installed RA2 and played it a little before I decided to get out YR. I installed that and everything seemed to be ok. Then when I started to load YR it took forever. Finally after literally 10 minutes it came up running just fine in the main screen. I clicked skirmish and set everything up. When the loading of the map came up was where the problems really began. It took me at least 20 minutes just to load the map. It had begun to load ok until about 1/5 of the way thru it just stopped and didn't move. I left the computer and came back later and the game had started, JUST started after that long. But the game itself was messed up. I would get about 5 seconds of normal time and 15 of a pause. So I could play fine for about 5 seconds and then it would just stop, after about 15 I got another 5 seconds. It's not worth the wait. And now RA2 won't even work. Same problem. PLEASE HELP!

Patched RA2 and YR to the latest versions?

 

I recall the latest patch for YR fixes a slow loading problem for computer with 2 or more DVD/CD drives.

And if you don't have the patch, for whatever reason, putting an RA2 disc in the second drive also alleviates this problem.

I have all the latest patches that i know of. but i never had problems before with it. i just stopped playing for like 1 year and it was still installed and when i got back on it, it didnt work. idk what happened

exact same thing, only when a game is loading i run out of patience and never let it load. after 5 mins i close it out entirely.
