Operation L.E.G.O. - Auditions Open

Recommended Posts

Information as of August 5th 2007:

Hi, I'm TagDaze, representing The Bluehell Group, part of Bluehell Productions, which you might know from the two Renegade mods "Red Alert: A Path Beyond" and "Apocalypse Rising". We're a voice acting group, primarily focussed on anything Command & Conquer, and now we're asking for your help.

We've had a little chat with Zee Hypnotist. He'll be starting a second season of his series soon, and he'd love to have some voice actors in. Thus we present the first open auditions as BHG for Operation L.E.G.O.

Project information

We've had a little chat with Zee Hypnotist, the guy you might know from the awesome C&C/LEGO machinimas. He'll be starting a third season of his series soon, and he'd love to have some voice actors in. Thus we present the first open auditions as BHG for Operation L.E.G.O.

Operation L.E.G.O. is a machinima by Zee Hypnotist about the wacky adventures of the average group of C&C soldiers, but played out with Lego's.

Characters

Commander

Background: Basically the leader of the squad.

Audition line:

"Ya know, I really hate that team. Nobody ever works together, and nobody gives a damn about what I say! It's cause I'm god damn black! I know it! Hell, only John will hang out with me at times! It's getting annoying! How do you expect me to be a commander of a unit without my squad's support?"

Further information:

Sounds like a black guy. Since... well, he IS black, after all. Suggestion: Sound like Black Vulcan. (See halfway this clip.)

Sniper

Background: A unit that was not in C&C, but seriously, gotta have the sniper, right?

Audition line:

"Yeah, I'm pretty good at hiding... you can look through the trees and bushes, and grasses and stuff... but you'd never find me. Ya know why? Cause I'm over here! ... Hey where are you going, where are you -"

Further information: This guy hides all the time, so he's obviously not a loudmouth.

Infantry

Background: Your basic rifle infantry guy.

Audition line:

"Now, I don't know what that commanders problem is. Always running along on his lonesome. Hell, everyone here is just a bunch of morons. And I'm stuck right in the middle of all of them. Just let my do my god damn job! I know what the hell I'm doing! I'd be better off fighting on my lonesome! But no!"

Medic

Background: A conscious objector. Pacifist.

Audition line:

"I hate war. I hate it. I just hate having to shoot people, and seeing my men die. I just joined this army so I could get free medic training. I hate the fighting part. I only want to help the people who go down. I hate seeing people die. (medic runs off) Dammit, not again!"

Further information: You might want to sound like a bit of a soft soul to emphasize his nonviolent nature.

Rocket Soldier

Background: The guy with the bazooka on his shoulder.

Audition line:

"Hah, I love this thing. I can blow anything up, from wherever the hell I want. People are just jealous of me. I could single handedly end this war. I'm better than all these freaks. I swear, some of them are morons. I can easily blow up the tank, but people think they all need to work together to destroy it. What morons! Yep. This owns."

Further information: Bit self-satisfied, quite a loudmouth, obviously. Think highly of himself, 'cause he has the biggest gun.

Commando

Background: Elite soldier, the toughest guy around.

Audition line:

"Commando laugh) Heh heh heh, this war is easy. Just running around, blowing things up, (Enemy sneaks up on him, he turns and shoots). Keep em Comin'!

(Turns back around). Anyway, I hate these other soldiers, cause when I do try to blow things up, some of my own men mess with my C4!"

Engineer

Background: Repairs and takes over buildings.

Audition line:

"Yeah, I like to repair things. If they break, I'm on it. Simple as that. I also like to steal enemy buildings. All I really have is my shovel for a weapon, but hell, for some reason, it gets the job done."

Additional information: This is all set in the Red Alert universe. Remember the Engineers voice? Try that.

Notes:

From Zee Hypnotist:

Remember to speak clearly, and not too fast. You may also be cast as an extra.

Your style determines the kind of character, so, feel free to mix things up a bit. You don't have to stick perfectly to the script either, it's easy to adjust. So, if you have to add in little mumbles and grumbles, that's perfectly fine.

You have to be committed to the character, there's going to be much more to record, but don't worry, you'll have a few weeks to record each segment. It shouldn't be too much, but it's still a responsibility.

Deadline: August 6th 2007

How to audition:

1. (1) Record your lines as .wav or .mp3 (mp3 preferred)

__(2) Save them as "role_yournickname.mp3" (eg. engineer_cncfanboy86.mp3)

2. Send the files, along with a way to contact you (email/WLM/Skype) to [email protected] with the word "LEGO" somewhere in the subject line. Once we have found your audition in the mailbox, we will add your name to the list below.

3. Play the waiting game. Recording will most likely not start right away, and we will have to discuss who gets which role.

Didn't Zee audition for these exact characters based of the BF2 video a few years back. I thought he already did a lego version of that.

Yeah, but if he's doing what I think he's doing, there's sort of a reason behind it.

I already mentioned this here: http://forums.cncnz.com/viewtopic.php?p=117456#117456

But anyway....

I'm all for improving Tiberium Legos and all that, but I would like to continue seeing each new video published here at CNCNZ.com first, via our YouTube channel. I like to think its a CNCNZ.com project first and foremost. One of our better features ;)

Don't worry, we might be connected to A Path Beyond and Apocalypse Rising, but the project leader still decides what's going to happen. We're just helping out.

When in doubt, audition for them all. ;)

@Sonic, don't worry, it's still a CNCNZ exclusive video, only thing is, other people are helping with some of the voice work and what not.

And as for the fact that I did this a while back, I'm doing it again because of the fact that there was literally no support for it in the past, but now that you guys have seen some of my work, I'd expect some of you to be a little more interested in 'auditioning'.

Don't worry, I'm sure we'll be adding in new people left and right every now and then, just record what you can, when you can, but just try to submit SOMETHING by then, if possible.

Time's up!

Thanks to everyone who has auditioned. We've gotten a whopping 51 clips from 20 people. We will be cataloging those auditions and pass them on to Zee Hypnotist to make up the final castlist.

Thanks again, everyone. You'll hear from us again.
