Base blows up at start (install not fixing it)

My base keeps blowing up within the first minute of the game (skirmish or LAN game). I have tried reinstalling C&C Generals twice, doesn't fix the problem. Any ideas?

nah..i spotted some illegal/pirated version of it & still running smooth.

I have the legal version of the game, but in order to play on LAN i needed a different cd-key. I have played on LAN before for over a month without this problem, this is new. I was using CCCLeaner to remove some junk from my computer, might this be registry problem that is staying on even after a re-install?

reinstal but after deinstallation remove the folder there are always files it keeps when you uninstall the game

 

Had it with ra2 too and it was legal LOL i have it legal like 3 times xD

I did that both times, deleted the Generals folder under EA GAMES in Program Files.

When you're playing LAN with whoever, are they using the same key? Gotta have two different copies IIRC.

I use a different serial number than the other person. It is not the same as what I installed with though.

What do you mean? You can't just change the key after the install... You have to install with a key and play with that key... :S

deleted the data/scripts folder and repaired. Works.
