Just annother TFD error! help !!

My satisfaction about TFD is all gone!

This error seems to be the source!

 

 

the most f***ed up about this is that this error even pups up when i try to install red alert 2!

 

I know that this possibly have been posted before and that there already is an aswer somewhere.

 

spend some time googlin' it but now my patience is gone too!

Looks like there is a problem with the DVD. As in, its dirty or has a scratch. I assume D:/ is your DVD drive?

The disc is brand new. No dirt on it. no scratches.

and yes D:/ is my DVD drive.

 

I thought it could be the "redundancy check" that somehow interfeers with some old tiberian sun files i can't find somewhere on my harddisk.

 

it's wierd.. becouse i have deleted them twice and they are still there

Yea, CRC's are to do with problems copying data, so there is a problem validating the copied data from the DVD to the Drive.

 

Now, its possible your drive could be having errors, needs to be cleaned or something along them lines...

Cause the problem is only on at a specific spot on the Disc. Which just happens to be where TS is.

An alternate DVD drive might help. That is, if your drive is old. How long have you used it? And do you have another (just in case)?

I have a brand new Dell XPS M1710 with a great DVD drive, no problems there.

 

And I would consider changing it a quite hard topic, since laptops are compact and very fragile.

 

(Old TS Files)

Everytime I find them I offcourse delete them but they mysteriosly jump back on.

 

It was a version I got from a friend. Everything worked but I found out it was an Illegal copy (Not legal If you already own the game, and the CD broke or something)..

 

Then my dad threw out the broken disc so I have no prooves that I actually owned the game once. So I decided to delete that version of TS and go buy the new fancy C&C TFD since it was incredibly cheap now.

 

But it relly have turned into a nightmare.

 

* lost my original TS disc that I loved.

* Used money on TFD, though it was cheap, but Im not rich relly.

* Getting 51092121!! problems with the new DVD.

* Updates somehow coused me even more problems.

* And now I haven't played my FAVORITE game in almost 2 months!

the file on the disk is corrupted, I had this problem with a few files on my hard drive a while ago and I couldn't recover the files no matter what I did so send it back to EA and tell them IT R BROKEDED!!! (I'm pretty sure the error has something to do with file fragmentation)
