You do? SO DO I! :P

Anyway, all joking aside, I agree with ya morm. PARENTS need to educate their kids a little more about the Intarwebz. It's the same as real life... don't give away information like your name, address, phone, etc.

it's just like RL, if you wouldn't talk to a random stranger IRL then why on the intarwebz?

Because the Internet offers anonymity, which works both ways. If you educate the younger generation about the matter, a lot of problems should clear up but the thing is getting the information out there insted of pussyfooting around the issue.

Meh, if your stupid, then stupid things will happen to you. Common sense should prevail, but alas.

Most kids don't use common sense. They think nothing bad will happen and that's not true, as proven by the posted article.

Yes. Most children today are very foolish/uneducated about the hazards of the internet.

And frankly predators out there are as cunning as a **** house rat. It is easy to fake being someone else, even to the point of forging photos, identification and such if you want to go the whole nine yards.

You can't use total scare tactics like that though, because it's stretching the truth really really long.

Put it simply like this, "You could get lucky and give out personal info and nothing happen - but you could give it out and be killed, raped, beaten, or anything else that is horrible to think of. Just be careful."
