Some advice on a map

I need some tips on how to win playing the torment arena map. I tried playing it on medium against GDI with health -20 and I even gave myself 50,000 and they still walked all over me. I tried to build as fast as I could but no matter what I do I can't seem to win.. It's like the computer is cheating somehow. They always seem to send wave after never ending wave of units after me and I can't seem to keep them fought off. I fend off enough attacks to get the mammoths tanks and there upgrade and I run out of money as the attacks are getting stronger by now and I'm wasting money like crazy.

 

I'm sure the computer plays differently based on the map. There was this one map I beat with a start up of 15k and the AI -20% Health and it was on hard for difficulty.

The more money you begin with, the harder it will be. Also, don't start with upgrades if you aren't done building lots and lots of units.

What Units are the strongest and most effective. I'm still learning the ropes of the game myself.

Nod's Stealth Tank is the most effective in my oppinion.

Seems to have the best "kill/death rate"

Me vs GDI Hard Ai

The basic constant attack techinque, no fancy steath tanks or vertigos, buggies or anything, just plain and simple. ;)

Quickly build a couple of refineries, when you have like 4~5, you can start building war factories and continuously pump out scorpions. Also, while building all those scorpions, build an air tower and pump out loads of venoms.

 

At least, that's how I do it :)

For another map I could tell it be a while before they bugged me so I used that to quickly build a tech center and built stealth tanks and avatars as much as I could. It also helped I captured that thingy that gave me 25 bucks every second and I used the fact the harvesters are stealth to my advantage and started to collect the blue tiberium field.

yeh... always go for the blue tibs. and make sure to send engeneers to every corner of the map.

Put a rifle/millitant squad at each captured building to prevent recapture..

That should make the enemy busy while you continually pump tanks at him.

I replayed the same map and this time I won with only reducing there health by 10% which isn't much but it gave me that little more of a edge to win. I almost didn't win. Had I not decided to take some tanks and some captured juggernauts and some engineers over to a unguarded base.. Then I would of most likely lost. There was 2 new fully grown tiberium fields waiting for me. I did discover a bug it seems. When you capture a GDI refinery , the game thinks you don't have a refinery until you build your own. Once you do that you unlock the rest of the building options.

That's no bug. Every army has its own tech tree.

 

Also, Avatars suck (though they may be slightly better in the latest patch, I dunno about that)

I find them quite effective for tanking (take the fire)..

Since the latest patch they somehow got harder to kill,.

I think so...

haven't played since the day after 1.09 was released..

that's where I experienced it.

Mammoths are strong but there slow. The Scrin destroyed ships and the tripods wipe them out easily.

At least mammoths can fire in the air....

 

But I mostly use basic tanks anyway.

The mammoth is too slow at everything for a fast paced RTS.

It's only good at base defending.

Whats a fast paced RTS ?

 

Command & Conquer 3

 

 

(Fast paced RTS, basicly means "Real Time Strategy" game where everything goes pretty quick)

 

C&C3 is very "fast" in comparison to other RTS's.
