VXL Surface Normals <RA2/YR>

I've downloaded a voxel pack in which i found some really good looking battleship voxels, but when i put them into the game (YR) they didn't look so good. And I began to wonder... Later I found out that the problem was the surface normals of the vxls. I compared the normals with other voxels' and the difference was very BIG! I tried to redo the normals with an autonormalizer but it was the same. I really don't know what to do, because I don't even understand what are these surface normals about! So, help me, if you can. I would need a voluntar who renormalises the voxels or someone who knows a very good tutorial about this thing.

Learn how to paint normals yourself. And if you autonormalize, use the Tiberian Sun normals. They look a lot better than RA2.

I've used flyby's TS normals but the same result, same with KOEN's

The normals control the lighting of your unit (which direction the light on that surface is coming from). For most units, the autonormalizer does pretty well. You can change the normals on the parts of the unit which are not properly lighted - but don't ask me what the right normal is, because that's an art.
