centurionbc 0 Posted January 6, 2008 hello i was wondering is it possible to take say shockwave mod and put in into tibed 2 to edit shockwave through tibed 2? Share this post Link to post
Koen 2 Posted January 6, 2008 Well... I do not know the technical setup of the Shockwave mod. But if it is a mod consisting of a single BIG file, you could try "Open existing mod from BIG file" on the opening screen of TibEd. I honestly have no idea if it will actually work properly - there's only one way to find out. Share this post Link to post
centurionbc 0 Posted January 6, 2008 well thats my prob. it comes in an installer and i am not sure how to get to the files. it comes with an xml file but no help any ideas anyone? Share this post Link to post
JahSpoR 0 Posted January 7, 2008 It's the same as SW_93... the .95 installer just does it for you. But yeah there is more than just one file. Share this post Link to post
Koen 2 Posted January 8, 2008 I've downloaded the mod. It comes with a file "0sw95.gib" of about 340MB. This is a BIG file, but with a changed extension I can open this file with TibEd, but the BIG file contains 4000 (!) files. And after 9 minutes, TibEd has finished importing only 1000 of them Furthermore, the mod contains scripts and other 'external' files. So after exporting from TibEd, you'd have to get the file it creates, rename it to the original name the mod had, and use the Shockwave Launcher. Still not sure if 4000 files is something TibEd can handle (is only the importing slow, or the whole of TibEd?). Will have to check for a bit. After 38 minutes of importing, it is done. Saving takes 2 minutes afterwards (which is fine, considering it is compressing 340MB of files). This is with ZLIB (Maximum), if you set it to ZLIB (Fastest) in the TibEd preferences, it will take < 30 seconds. Or set it to none, but then you'll get a 342MB file, instead of a 200MB one. The bright side of this is that it takes like 5 seconds only (it is limited only by the speed of your harddisk). The auto-save kicks in too often (every 5 minutes) - which is quite annoying, because when you try to save, the auto-save has to finish first when you try to save. So, adjust the autosave settings to something like very 15-30 minutes. Share this post Link to post
Koen 2 Posted January 8, 2008 Well, that 38 minutes of importing was very annoying. I've tracked down one cause of this, if you redownload beta 5e (just updated it with this change) from this thread, then it goes down to 7 minutes on my machine. Still not perfect, but okay for most people because you only import the BIG file once 8). Let me know if this works for you! Share this post Link to post
