I'm really skeptical this movie will work, but none-the-less it has really interesting casting, and I like Abrams TV work, and I'll still be there opening night! Sonic 297 Posted January 21, 2008 I think this movie will bomb big time. Many of the actors are totally mis-cast. People like John Cho (as Sulu), Simon Pegg (as Scotty) are comedic actors. They might as well cast Jim Carrey as Kirk :roll: Many of the actors are not that recognisable either. Jennifer Morrison in another sci-fi setting? Oh dear god no!!! I see Karl Urban (as Bones McCoy) is in, so there's a Kiwi connection as well. But I see this movie failing in a big way, the hardcore Trekkies are probably crying over this cast of actors. Gben 20 Posted January 21, 2008 I didn't realise Urban was a Kiwi... I thinking the acting choices are bold, but I do think the concept is pretty doomed. I don't know why anybody thought re-casting existing characters with other actors is a good idea. I don't mind the time period... but couldn't they have just created new characters? I've never enjoyed a single NextGen movie, despite being a fan of the tv series, but I've still been there each opening night! Ok. I'm a saddist (The last one (Nemesis) was such a dissapointment after a truely excellent trailer. They should shoot people who make trailers like that. Trailers should make movies look good - not be better than the movie!) Share this post Link to post

This will bomb for that simple reason. Voyager was plagued with horrible writers and so was that ****e they called Enterprise. Star Trek is dead and buired until they get rid of all their current staff and start over. I mean why would I want to watch this **** when there are so many decent Sci Fi movies/series available? Isn't the famous B&B not involved in this movie... ie. different writers. ie.
