Custom Field Updates:

Added by request, there are now custom fields for the following....

• Gamertag
• C&C3 Online
• XCC/WOL
• APB

These will only show on the members profile page.

 

The other new custom field is one so you can tell everyone your favourite C&C game. This one does show up in the post details when your viewing a topic. All of these custom fields show on the registration page when a new member signs up. They are all optional.

 

If you would like see/update your profile now go to My Controls >> Edit Profile Information, there near the bottom of the page.

 

Blue Skin News:

The new blue is still in the works. I'm having problems getting it to work correctly so I've sourced some outside help from a friend. Look for the new Blue Resurrection (cncnzBlueRes from the phpBB2 forum) skin to appear in the next 7 days or so. You will know when its available because it will become the default skin. I should also make it clear that cncnzBlueRes is the only skin making the change from the old phpBB2 forum at this stage.

No xfire? Oh well, cool and a great start for the new IPB forums! I have to ask though, in the far future might we see new skins for the forums when you get more familiar with IPB of say, older CNCNZ skins or even new ones? I am also liking this section being closer to the top and you moving the community news to the news section as well. The CNCNZ forums always seemed big and clustered, it's kind of made it.. "simpler".

 

A suggestion also, maybe the graphics shop should be a subsection of open discussion?

I left out the Xfire option because you guys have those fancy sig image things.

 

As for the skins. Once I get the new blue one up and running I will look at the others such as cncnzPurple, cncnzRemix and cncnzV8 (the red one) and bring them back in due time.

 

Regarding the moving of some forums. More will be moved and/or changed at some point. We have discussed this privately to some degree. I'm happy with how they are now but moving a few forum to sub forums makes it a bit different, less busy etc.....

 

Good idea about the Artwork forum. The only problem with sub forums is they are sort of hidden and tucked away.

 

I just hope people understand that when you rip the heart out of your forums (as in the software) and replace it with something new it takes a while to get everything sorted. Its like when you format your hard drive, you re-install Windows, your data is there but its not really the same as it was before

Yea cuz you gotta move it around constantly to make it feel like home. Or if you do linux, /home/. (Woo, lame joke!)

 

And while you might consider the graphics shop forum to be hidden as a sub-section, look at the lack of posts there anyways. It's already inactive and hidden.

Honestly, if it's at the top of the Open Discussion forum (like it would if it became a subforum), it will be noticed a lot more...to be honest, when I saw the words "Graphics Forum" in TSBOs post, I thought "That's a good idea!"

 

Oh, and I love the new profile fields, they're great to have

Blue Skin Update:

 

Lots of progress has been made on the blue skin so I thought I'd post a quick preview here for you.

 

 

We still have more work to do on it but its getting there.

The main page and forum views are looking almost perfect, the problems that remain are generally quote boxes, user control panel, members page etc..... so all the outer stuff is fluffed up nicely, but the specifics are what's taking a little longer.

Maybe make the [-] boxes a light-blue color? Or the gold you are using would be fine too. The pink looks a tad off.
