    C&C Soundtracks Survey

There really isn't much point to picking individual tracks in TW as the music is dynamically selected and blended - it's meant to sound all the same. Still, from a pure game standpoint, TW had the best music of the Tib games - much more game'ish than the classic tracks and very little ominous chanting compared to TT.
  2. QUOTE (Cypher @ Sunday 23rd October 2011 6:32 AM) I'm sorry, but is it just me or are they just porting W3D models from TW to Renegade - straight up? It seems so. Judging by the inconsistency of the unwrap around the cockpit (you can clearly see the polygons' edges above the canopy) and the visible vertices of the chassis' middle edge line, it is the low settings model, however. QUOTE (Plokite_Wolf @ Sunday 23rd October 2011 9:22 AM) I don't know, but they do seem to enhance some of the models. 11 hours ago, they edited the GDI Aircraft Carrier: That's a texture change (different hue, different markings), not a model enhancement. It's pretty clearly visible when you blend the two screenshots for their differences.
  3. Loving the planes but the tank could do well with some wear and tear.

    Renegade X: Beyond Black Dawn

Don't have any problem with that in the media shown. The light level seems adequate on my monitor.

    Renegade X: Beyond Black Dawn

It's part of good game design to draw focus to the well-developed features and have players not care about underdeveloped ones by having them take a back seat in palyer's perception. This applies to both gameplay as well as graphics. You can't make a perfect games, so the ones most perfect should also be most prominent with the rest just providing the glue to keep the important parts together.

    Renegade X: Beyond Black Dawn

I just dropped more jaws than should be anatomically possible. RX is really by far the most professionally done Project of all C&C projects.
  7. So it's official then - this is the "Disruptors in SAGE" month. Looks quite impressive for such an old engine.
  8. This. Is. Awesome! Just wanted to say that, Renovatio is getting way too little praise for the incredible work the team is doing. €dit Shouldn't post while under the influence.
  9. While I personally wouldn't have taken this art direction, I have to admit that it works well, a lot better than I initially thought BTW.
  10. Doesn't look particularly convincing to me. A lot of those games don't seem fit for a Console like Vita.
  11. It seems it's the official "Disruptors in TW" month. ^^
  12. One of the most impressive mods in the community IMO. I've been stunned by their structures, by their units and now also by their maps and environments. Excellent work!
  13. IMO it was a great idea, but the execution was average at best. Didn't really like the initial setup of the starting rounds (some free wins, some very early top level kills) and it didn't really help that many people weighted base and expansion games differently. €dit: And a definite lack of dancing! CIRE weeded duplicates/fakes after each voting was over. Only the corrected results counted, but it could have been made better, I agree.
  14. I don't mind the lightning as much as the graininess of the textures - it almost seems as if there are no mipmaps. Makes for an odd contrast compared to the smooth looks of the default RA3 assets. It does look quite impressive, though.
  15. I hate myself for it, but when I saw the second (right) picture on ModDB, I thought "lol, why do they show TF2 screens?"... the next thought was "lol, why is there a hovering assault rifle on the right?... Then I took a look at the beach and Mammoth pictures... AWESOME! There are no other words to describe it.
  16. If you wish to extract assets from Tiberium Twilight, the most direct way is to use Bibber's Big Extractor to extract the manifests/streams from the game's Big files, then use his Asset Extractor to extract the actual assets from them. YOu might find more up-to-date versions of his tools on his homepage.

    The Red Alert Mod Interview

"Vanilla" and "Enhanced" modes usually take similar time to develop, the number of new assets is usually quite small. It's more a problem of mods being mods, i.e. not commercial projects.
  18. I'm still undecided whether listening to the community is a good or a bad thing...
  19. We're planning on giving the new unit circles to structures or make similarly reduced ones. The idea was simply to get feedback on whether the new design is acceptable first.
  20. The work they're doing since the change in management really is awesome. If they keep this speed, we might see a release in a reasonable time.
  21. It's indeed a distortion PFX as you can see on the HC ring. Looks better in motion though, I grant you that.

    New Twisted Insurrection Concepts

Those could indeed be useful for FPS LoD. Even though little of the detail is actually visible in game, it's still "satisfying" in a way to know there's more substance behind it.
  23. Honestly, I prefer publishers releasing Pre-Order bonuses after some time over them sitting on it forever. Take games like Mass Effect 2 for example, there's bonus equipment for the chars tied to pre-orders, most of the players will never ever see any of that and even the pre-orderers will only have one out of ten parts.
  24. Now that's what I call a WHAMM!!! announcement. The change in quality is incredible, if they can keep this up we might see another competitor for the best CNC3/C&C mods. I only wish EA's WHAMM!!! announcement would have been as cool as this. It's a shame to see not a single of all the awesome mod updates finding official mention on the CNC page.
  25. It worked yesterday, when it was first leaked. It included a full new front page as well as a forum (VB4 or soemthing like that) but was a bit bugged still. They seem to have taken it down after it became apparent that people found out about it.
