  2. I wanted to try making a new country within the existing factions and with the help of Ares, I succeeded in making China for soviets. The loadscreen, flag, and everything else is working perfectly except for the AI. If I try to vs against AI China, upon loading completion I'm warmly greeted by a crash. Was there a few things I had to change in aimd.ini as well when making this new country?

  5. Late reply ik They're tied to the Soviets, so they should have the same teams. I also made one defensive team and one attack team unique to the Chinese yet it still crashes on startup

  7. I've come across some death animations that I'd like to use but I'm completely ignorant on how to implement them. Do I have to replace the existing animations or is there a way to add a new InfDeath?

I feel like this is worth saying regardless (come at me) Whoever is really lazy like me, I have something to simplify the implementation of Ares for you Simply download it from the website, extract all the files into your game directory and then go to RunAres.bat ... Just double click it and it'll launch YR with Ares. (If you're looking for RunAres.bat in the windows file explorer search bar, please note that it won't run if you find and execute it from there) It's also cool to make a shortcut for it and drag it onto your desktop instead of going to your game directory every time.   10. Is there any way in the code to disable an SHP's remap to make it one color regardless of player choice or must this be done manually in SHP builder and have Rempable=no?

    I checked up and down, no sign of it. There could be something right in my face and I'm just not seeing but...otherwise no EDIT: Since I've gotten too far in my mod to scrap it and my family wouldn't like waiting a month for me to redo everything I've done, I decided to ignore the issue and keep on modding. Note that I haven't undone anything but only create new units and it has just stopped. No more crashing. Over about 20 hours of play time there have been 2 crashes in total with no particular patterns and nothing to do with the Soviet AI. Ares is great but I feel like it can be similar to a teenage girl's emotions in terms of stability. With regular modding, crashing always seemed to have a reason and with Ares...there seems to be none
  12. My mod has been crashing and there's no particular pattern (Vs AIs). I suspect it's got something to do with the Soviet AI but there's nothing that I can tell that could be the issue. It's used all of it's custom taskforces and carried out it's custom scripts with no issue but eventually it'll crash. Or not! Sometimes it'll crash after 35 minutes of gameplay or 2 minutes. It's completely random. My only hope is to look at the except.txt generated for every crash to figure what the hell is going on. Is there anyway I can interpret it or learn what the code means?

    The DefenseRule was enabled and the minimum teams on 1. Also, sorry for the duplicate except, I should have checked. And no, nothing out of the ordinary. I did however, create only one of my own scripts which is active for the Medium soviet AI's Kirov attack.     It's been around 15 days since I made a post there, no reply. I guess slow service is to be expected when nobody else except the developers themselves can read Ares' complex stuffs.

    Here ya go Edit: Since this thing was annoying me so badly, I couldn't find answers, and people on other forums didn't respond, I ended up scrapping my beloved AIMD and started a new one. After a bit of modding (entirely different from the last aimd file) the crashes kept happening but a lot less often. I've had several matches with the (Soviet) AI before it occurs. When it does, it (usually) stops sending unit attack forces and just has it's infantry do it's guard/garrison loops for about 20-50 seconds, then Internal error appears. Is there something with Soviet AIs that simply wants to be very annoying? All these had different EIPs and I don't know much about these debug files, so I was hoping you could tell me if they're entirely different reasons for crashing.     EDIT: 150,150,150 works.
  17. I can't create white as a multiplayer color with 255, 255, 255 and not even gray with 225,225,255, or 153,153,153 but I can make black (35,35,35 is best, for those reading). Is it entirely impossible to create the color white or gray? Is this prevented because Civs use that color?

    Blue trees

    I loaded up Yuri's Revenge after the first time in awhile and I had lost all my previous versions so I downloaded the Origin copy and I noticed that instead of having trees on the map, I just have these odd blue splotches around. Fix?

    Unit slowdown

    Okay! So I found out that it slows down if it runs over ore, gates, and tanks. I'll disable crusher but does anyone know what the deal with that is? EDIT: I disabled omnicrusher and changed the movementzone from CrusherAll to Destroyer. That seems to have fixed it. You know how omnicrushing tanks slow down over the tank they're trying to run over before they do it? I believe some odd bug (Might be with Ares) keeps the tank in that state even AFTER it has ran over whatever it was trying to
  21. So I customized the Apocalypse unit and I've been noticing that after using it for a short while, they slow down below the already low placed slow speed they have in the code. Funny thing is that it's only some of them. Usually out of 6, 2 Apocs move at the regular speed. I looked over it and there's nothing out of the norm. I'm using Ares so, could that be it? Because FLH on certain units seem to not be working as well ever since I've been using Ares (Latest version) EDIT: It has the same movementzone as the Battle Fortress: CrusherAll. o.0 Is that the issue? (It is an omnicrusher)

    White coloring

    Add a new a MP Color. (I learned how to do that with Ares. Added Black and Magenta) However, if it's impossible to add white then I'm also alright with replacing an existing one

  24. 90% of my mod files (VXLs, INIs, HVAs, SHPS, PAL) are loose in my directory and it works pretty well. My father taught me that this was the way to mod but after surfing around for a little while it seems like there's a better place to put them. Me, being the lazy guy I am prefer having the files loose, so I'm here to ask...Are there any drawbacks in having them loose?
