right now all i need is a browser that actually -works- and has a FLV downloader xD

- also i wish this forum wouldn't automatically sign you out just as you send a message and force you to copy, sign in then find the topic again >_>;

it's done it to me three times this morning >_> you're all signed in then you press respond to the message and you click the send button then it takes you to a window asking you to sign in with a box with what you typed in. if you just sign in, it takes you back to the forum's main page... so you have to copy your message, find the topic again and resend it xD it happens to me all the time and it's really quite annoying

Make a topic in the thingey forum and Sonic will look at it and it might get resolved. :)

Also, I finally downloaded Chrome. It is "SLIGHTLY" faster on some pages I notice... But after a while I really started to notice how much I use my FF extensions and addons. So I'm back on FF. Chrome can sit on the drive though, for when FF plays up. :)

No, not me, haven't try this new browser yet. Still, I just got word from a friend of mine who said it takes more memory than Firefox. Firefox is still more efficient as well. ;)

EDIT : Here's my friend's full report on the browser compare with others including the new Safari for PC.

Memory Consumption

Firefox requests only something like 20 MB of memory. Chrome needs 25 MB of memory and Safari requests 51 MB Oo. Ao Safari definitely requests more memory when used. IE requests 44 MB to run, it's just not too much and just not enough ^^

Yeah like Doc said, make sure cookies are enabled. You could also try this. Go to the main index of the forums and click on "Delete cookies set by this board", make sure you log out, clicking that may log you out anyway. Close your browser, open browser again, return to http://forums.cncnz.com and login again, check the box to make it remember you.

If that doesn't help manually remove all cookie files for "forums.cncnz.com". You can do this in Firefox by going to Tools >> Options >> Privacy tab >> Click Show Cookies and then scroll down until you find "forums.cncnz.com", remove them all. Repeat the same steps as above to login etc.... this should reset the cookies set by the forum.

hmm oo; i'll look into it if it does it again... i might just change it to "remember me" that would probably solve the problem xD; but it's not really a big deal... just a minor annoyance. keeps me on my toes though :3 thanks for everyone's help anyway ^^

Other people do. Before I did my rebuild, I had a Greasemonkey script for YouTube, GameTrailers, Google Video and one other that I forgot.

yah i can't script... and if you read back a little way you'd realise that Firefox is the problem o.O i can't access some sites on it o.o it just times out :\ but the flv downloader i have on FF works fine... the problem is i can't load the page xD so i need to find an alternate browser that loads the page and has an flv downloader o.o and opera seems to fit the bill nicely o.O (personally i think the site i'm thinking of might have banned my firefox or something because i'm downloading their stuff. to download clips on that site you have to pay xD and i'm all ninja an stuff... and everytime i find a sneaky way around it and download some stuff, a couple of days later i can't do it anymore XD but i will keep fighting >:U )

Yet Chrome is just a stripped down Firefox... Chrome is a sham and that will be my position until it has something Firefox does not.

yup. think it uses the same code engine or something. it reacts the same to different websites too o.o but yah i use opera too... half of those on the top ten chart i haven't even heard of oO; but yah i really just can't be bothered to get another browser right now... as it is everything is working fine and dandy (or close enough to it xD)

Chrome uses the WebKit rendering engine. It's not the same as the Gecko engine but it's close enough to make them nearly identical.

I just want my live bookmarks with my bookmark toolbar so bad... No other browser offers it besides Firefox.

The more diversity the better regardless...

Not really since it means I have to do more testing as a dev. Stupid browser choice. I liked it better when it was just Netscape and IE.
