Gben 20 Posted September 24, 2008 But the Super Computer in the TERMINATOR movies must be based on a MAC. Because if it was a PC - it would have crashed a loooong time before it even attempted genocide!!! Share this post Link to post
General Leang 0 Posted September 24, 2008 I say PC, because that way Skynet would have taken over everything. Share this post Link to post
Saracen 16 Posted September 25, 2008 If you arrange the letters of Skynet, you can spell Microsoft! I dunno how but it's true. The Supercomputer actually runs on the new Windows 7 (Server edition) Operating System that they're developing right now! We're doomed! But maybe the AI is so advanced it self-maintains its own core. My machine has only crashed once in 18 months after all, so it's not hard to look after these things. In fact I guarentee the backup systems run on Linux, which is why Microsoft Skynet manages to destroy most of the human race. It's a metaphor for real life because Windows is effectively a Linux clone in so many ways. Share this post Link to post
Gben 20 Posted September 25, 2008 Of course! And if you rearrange DRM you get T1000!!! It's so obvious now! Share this post Link to post
Luk3us 63 Posted September 25, 2008 What kind of nonsense topic is this? Windows > All. Share this post Link to post
Mina Synd 0 Posted September 25, 2008 pish. if skynet was on a Mac OS the terminators would be all smooth and white and cute XD like that depressed robot from hitchhikers guide (the new movie) with microsoft it makes sense. they are the quintessential evil movie corporation o.o also on a side note a few months ago the british military launched a spy and technology satellite with advanced AI in it. the idea is that it would hook up with other systems and make life easier for the military because everything would be inter-connected. and guess what it's called. skynet. i shizz you not... to be honest it scared the poopie out of me. but then again if you are gonna create something which played a significant role in ending the world as we know it, you might as well base it off the same thing. so at least if it all goes wrong and it really happens, it would give the geeks some lulz because of the irony... and you've gotta admit, how excellent would it be to have something from a movie actually repeat in real life like that... okie so a few billion people would die. but it would be fun and one long constant geekgasm xD Share this post Link to post
Sonic 296 Posted September 25, 2008 Windows is effectively a Linux clone in so many ways. I think you have that around the wrong way. Linux is a Windows clone. Basically all the major Linux distributions mimic Windows. I have no issues with Linux but everyone knows it will never take over as the worlds most used operating system. Mina Synd 0 Posted September 25, 2008 linux will always stay in the background, having all the servers and such run off it... but it'll never become a main front runner... people will always pick windows first. unless by some strange twist of fate something happens that forces microsoft into bankrupcy... then linux will take over, what with being very windows similar and doing all the important things already. but let's face it, what could possibly crush microsoft at this point in time short of a time machine? o.o; Share this post Link to post
Luk3us 63 Posted September 25, 2008 Linux requires "more effort" to use than Windows. And for that simple reason it'll only appeal to a certian portion of the population. It also doesn't help when open source companies and such, charge for support and updates, which is counter productive... But whatever.. I still have a dual boot system. I just hardly ever use Linux, but its nice to have when Windows falls over dies. Share this post Link to post

I have no issues with Linux but everyone knows it will never take over as the worlds most used operating system. If it wasn't for Linux, a lot of Windows own features, bells and whistles wouldn't exist. Windows Aero on Vista is a prime example. Such a flashy thing was done in Linux many years before Vista hit the market. Share this post Link to post
Mina Synd 0 Posted September 25, 2008 well let's face it, linux is always gonna be the geeky brother whereas windows will always be the other, popular, handsome though somewhat less intelligent one o.o; no matter how hard you try windows will always be more popular... notice when someone makes a game or whatever they never check primarily to see if it works on linux or mac. only later once everything else is settled. it has to work on windows... >_>; Share this post Link to post

Because if it was a PC - it would have crashed a loooong time before it even attempted genocide!!! Nah, it was probably just a Mac running Windows, and attempted genocide because it was depressed that it had to rely on windows to run things Share this post Link to post
Mina Synd 0 Posted September 26, 2008 >.> right click mac lover XD shame that insult doesn't work that well seeing as most of the one button mice are being replaced now ;-; but i can still dig on the mac's history xD Share this post Link to post
