Tiberium Sun & RA2 won't work on Vista?

I'm really having a problem trying to get Tiberium Sun & Red Alert 2 to work on Windows Vista, everytime I try to run one of them I keep getting some sort of error message.

 

For Tiberium Sun I get "One or more DLL files were missing or damaged. Please reinstall".

For Red Alert 2 I get "***FATAL*** String Manager failed to initilaized properly".

Oh it's ok now, I've fixed the Vista issue now.

How? It might be useful to post your solution if anyone else has that problem.

usually a combination of taking ownership of all files in the game folder and running as admin. And sometimes compatibility mode.

I installed it and have done all of the above and it works, but TS is very very slow with the game speed set on HIGH. Any ideas?
