Questions about EADM, codes, accts, DRM?

I have a some questions about the EA Download Manager and I hope you guys can help me.

 

This is the first time I'm doing using this EADM.

 

I have an Uprising and TW codes, and once I've upload my Uprising and TW codes in "activation" in my acct, does that mean the codes will be permanently registered under my account? If a friend of mine wanna "borrow" my codes and try to activate in his account, will it work?

 

If here's another scenario, I'm gonna download and install Uprising on Computer A, and later I decide to install it too on Computer B, so I log in in Computer B's EADM, will I be able to download and install it here too?

Will there be installation limits... say... DRM?

 

One more question, what is the lifespan of the codes activated by the account? Forever, or 2-5 years?

I don't know about the TW code but Uprising has the same DRM arrangement as RA3 did after patch 1.05 was introduced. You can install it on 5 computers, but to get an activation back you have deauthorise the game before uninstalling it.

 

The codes I sent to you are tided to your EA Master Account. If your friend signs in with account he would be able to get copies of the games because they have been used by your account. DOn't give our EA account password etc....

Yes you can do that. But the same DRM rules apply that I mentioned above.

I think they last 1 year. Usually when you purchase games via the EA Store you can buy an extended service. However you can backup your EADM games. Have a look at "\ProgramData\Electronic Arts\EADM\cache\{ UNIQUE CODE HERE }" on your computer.

 

 

You can copy the files to DVDs, USB or other external drives/media.

TW will be tied to the one account, so everyone can see all your accounts AKA smurfs.

No worries. I'm not crazy enough to distribute my accounts to anyone. I'm just asking to understand more on how EADM and the accounts work.

The EA Store should be more like Direct2Drive or Steam. You can download as many times as you need for as many years as you need to on those services.

You can extend the service to 5 years if you buy that option. I got it free, because I pre-ordered.
