Command & Conquer 4 Gameplay Details

I assume this is an effort for a finite game length, maybe even to lead to EALA-patented-style short gameplay, rather than an unending game with automatic respawns.

 

But then WiC had a 30 minute timer on it's Domination and Tug of War Game modes, so games couldn't go on and on for ages. 30 minutes wasn't a lifetime either... There used to be so much action going on at once, that 30 minutes often never seemed enough at times.

 

I believe the Assault mode, which went over 2 rounds of gameplay with each team taking turns to attack and defend, just went on for 15 minutes per round... So really, games were still fast and fluid. Plus the ability to jump in and out of games like a FPS was a great way of playing the game too. The servers always had maps and game modes on auto-rotation and such as well, so the action wasn't broken up by a lobby system. The lobby system and option to create your own games, game modes and map rotation etc was still there, but it wasn't the defining feature that made the Multiplayer great.

Just wondering, if the defence class builds defensive turrets, what about power supply issue? Since there is no Power Plants I take it that they require the Crawler presence to power up?

I also wonder about that too, will there be certain number of defenses you can build or you want to go all the way to max for the price of not be able to build your superweapon. After all, power plant issue here.
