EA LOS ANGELES UNVEILS OFFICIAL NAME FOR COMMAND AND CONQUER 4

COMMUNITY CHOOSES COMMAND & CONQUER 4 TIBERIAN TWILIGHT AS OFFICIAL NAME FOR HIGHLY-ANTICIPATED VIDEO GAME

August 26, 2009 – In the name of Kane - the fans have spoken. Today EA Los Angeles announces the official name for the upcoming iteration of the award-winning real-time strategy series, Command & Conquer 4. Scheduled for a 2010 release, Command & Conquer 4 Tiberian Twilight was chosen by the series’ dedicated fan base as their favorite name for the next instalment of the best-selling game franchise. More than 15,000 fans from all over the world submitted their ideas via www.commandandconquer.com, with Command & Conquer 4 Tiberian Twilight being the most popular title for EALA’s conclusion to the epic Tiberium saga.

“Our sophisticated fans are a tremendous community with a great love for the series. We really wanted to involve them in Command & Conquer 4 – what better way than to have them create the title?” said Mike Glosecki, Lead Producer on Command & Conquer 4 at EA Los Angeles. “We were blown away by all the creative names they came up with but the most popular selection, Tiberian Twilight, seemed the best fit, embodying that the saga is coming to a powerful and epic conclusion.”

Command & Conquer 4 Tiberian Twilight brings a multitude of innovations to the fast and action-packed C&C gameplay that fans have come to love in the series’ 15-year legacy. Introducing mobile bases, persistent player progression, a 3-class system and an objective-based 5v5 multiplayer, Command & Conquer 4 Tiberian Twilight will bring fans more strategic depth and compelling new gameplay variations than any C&C game before. With the return of the series’ signature high quality live action cinematics, including Joe Kucan as the Brotherhood of Nod’s enigmatic leader Kane, Command & Conquer 4 Tiberian Twilight is set out to give fans a powerful and stunning conclusion to their beloved saga.

Command & Conquer 4 Tiberian Twilight will be available for the PC in 2010 and has not yet been rated by the ESRB or PEGI. For more information, please visit www.commandandconquer.com or get the latest intel on everything Command & Conquer on twitter at http://twitter.com/ea_apoc.

And yes that is the fixed version of the box art that says Tiberian Twilight rather than Tiberium Twilight.

it seems the box art has been slightly updated and feets perfectly now the dvd box :)

i like it!

1)Kane is not in the air!

2)the Nod unit draw (like buggy dont know its name) was polished too look like the other and not like a draw

3)the shadow i think in the Twilight is a little stronger so it will not disappear that easily into the 4.

APOC will be posting an article soon with details of the other 9 subtitle they considered before settling with Tiberian Twilight. He also mentioned these on the official forums....

.... but for a good laugh, here are some obvious ones that didn't make the cut, but did make me fall out of my chair just about:
  • The End is Now
  • Tacitus Domination
  • The Final Chaos of Earth
  • Planet Tiberian
  • Green Gold Allusion to White
  • Karacho (wth is that!)
  • The Pinnacle of Tiberium
  • Extrinsic Finality
  • Energy of a Crystal

  • Tiberium Wars 2 (the best!) <-- hilarious
O, it gets much better than that…

I still think they need to get rid of the in-game models on the cover. It's a little bit less of an issue now though since the "PC DVD-ROM SOFTWARE" logo is covering most of the Mammoth Tank's treads which is the worst offender of "visible low-polygon count syndrome." I know they have sexy high-res cinematic models that they could be using! I've seen em!

When you say the word fixed version, I'm kind of getting nervous about whether if the boxart is finally done for real or subject to change. I'm ok with what you mentioning Tiberian Twilight instead of Tiberium, but I'm still concern about the art when it's not drawn from scratch. I 100% NEVER trust EA for their actions, I do know they never learn their lessons since 4 games (C&C3 to Uprising) had utilized copying & pasting, the only way I can regain their trust is when they finally give up their copy & paste habit. Pathetic & stupid little box or not, I'm a Westwood traditionalist (I can repeat the word whenever I want or needed), I don't want any our old & new fans move on to EA completely when they should never forget Westwood itself, it's like honoring our ancestors.

Nice compilation of some strange amusing entries.

Tiberium Wars 2?!

Who actually really submit that as an entry?!

"The End Is Now" is absolutely hilarious.

He's definitely good at the heavy modification to the tiberium crystals!

and so are your other cool stuff, lol.

Tiberium Wars 2 is for the no-brainer, who is the guy that doesn't have creativity in his head? Even a young school kid can say a TV Show 1 & then its sequel, TV Show 2.
