C&C Society Interview with Cypher

Recommended Posts

C&C Society have posted an interview they had with Cypher from Planet CNC and the Official C&C Forums. This interview covers Cypher's experiences at CommandCom since he was one the attendees, as well as play testing Command & Conquer 4 and meeting the development team. Here's a couple of questions.

C&C Society: What was your impression of the Dev Team? Are they are what they say they are “Working with passion and love for C&C”? And what was their attitude toward the community members?

Cypher: They are definitely a cool group of people with a lot of passion toward what they are building in C&C4. And they were available to chat at any given moment out side the presentations, and at the party, it was very cool. Louis talked about how much he loves TS and RA2 and all sorts of stuff from the past. Joe talked about how Blizzard owed him 12 million dollars (or something like that), cause without him there would be no C&C, and without C&C..... Sam and I talked about secret stuff. David liked the fact that I was an IDF officer and read my Hebrew dog tags easily. Mike talked about anything when someone approach him. And Peter Larsen and I talked about various high level philosophical stuff.

C&C Society: You played C&C 4 at CommandCom, What is your general impression of the game so far?

Cypher: First, I must say – we played a very very early version of the game, a pre-alpha. And yet, I enjoyed it. The attention for details is amazing; Two words – Visceroid Shawarma! The Multiplayer is directed specifically at cooperative play. In general, as a fan of the series and the RTS genre for the last 15 years I thank the developers for finally doing something new. I played StarCraft 2 on the last day of GamesCom and I can already see myself feeling strained to finish the campaign just to experience the story of the game. I dont want the same feeling for C&C. I’m tired of the same game play over and over again. I didn’t even try “Uprising” campaigns, except for the Yuriko campaign – because it was NEW. I feel the change is a must. If they can implement the potential that was shown at CommandCom, it’s gonna be huge.

"oh there's visceroids. im happy now. end of story. give me the game."

but now that i think about it, im wrong lol. i guess people are excited because the game is on the right track...

I think there are other concerns other than viseroids. Now can we start receiving answers on the various concerns the community is waiting patiently for?

Well he did answer on more concerns, about the pop cap and the end of the Tiberium saga

"you should look at this like an end of a TV show season and not the entire show.

Don’t forget that the Scrin are still on the way for invasion ." :)
