Good XBox Games

Recommended Posts

I've just purchased an XBox, a crystal XBox to exact. It comes with Project Gotham Racing 2.

Can anyone recommend any other good games for Xbox that I should add to my shopping list?

Halo, because it's superiour to the PC version.

Grand Theft Auto: Double Pack, because it's double the fun.

Ninja Gaiden, because it rocks. (I scores between 90% and 100% in every review)

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, because it offers hours of gaming, high replay value because you can chose between the dark and light side.

Happy gaming.

Thanks for that list Khyber. The Grand Theft Auto pack sounds good. I saw Ninja Gaiden previewed on that Gamer.TV show, looked great.

Halo, been there..... done that. Halo 2 please!

XBox Live, I'll give that a miss. It sounds fun but the prices for broadband internet suck here in NZ, well to me they do.

I have a PS2 and GC, I'd recommend getting a GC it's got wicked games on it and it's the cheapest ;)

XB is good too, but you really need to pay for Live to get the best out of the console.

I got a little advice, and it was suggested that the best way to choose a console is to look at the games that are available for it and I'm leaning heavily towards getting an XBoX because of Halo, Halo 2, KotOR, Splinter Cell, other Star Wars games, Rainbow Six series, and others.

Since each live supported game comes with 2 months free, you just have to buy 6 a year and you're set...

Yes Phreakly you want an XBox. Get the crystal one....it looks better than boring old black.

My only annoyance with the Xbox.... well more like Project Gotham Racing 2.... the vibration action is so annoying. Its meant to simulate the car engine rumbling but really the controller just makes a silly sounding buzz sound. Once I pump the Xbox through my might stero system I won't hear it

On the subject of the controller, did they redsign them recently?

I used to hear stories about how big a bulky they were, hard to hold. Personally I think they are very good.

My XBox shopping list:

- Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (was going to get it for PC)

- Ninja Gaiden

- Grand Theft Auto: Double Pack

Initially they were released with big controllers everywhere but Japan because Japanese hands are smaller, but it soon became evident that they were too big and they're now shipping with the smaller "Controller S".

I'll probably go with the Halo bundle, we don't have a crystal one here.

BTW, the normal XB is a very dark green, not black

Yea, it's difficult to get the big ones now, all xboxes ship with an "S" including the crystal one.

It is , it looked black to me when I saw some kid playing on one in the shops.

Also on my Xbox shopping list the Total Control Pack for DVD playback. Then I'll probably replace my DVD player.

Look carefully ;)

The XB DVD player is good - not sure if it replaces a DVD player, our DVD player can play more things (photo gallery etc.)

it is progressive scan, while the PS2 is not. So, of the two consoles it is best.

I'm not to picky about all the fancy extra features on modern DVD players. My current DVD player is a few years old (purchased it in October 2001), its had a lot of use. I'll probably end up using the XBox as my DVD player (once I buy that kit) because the XBox needs a home in my cabinet. Its currently sitting on a small table in the middle of the room with all the cable hanging around ;)

I wish the XBox played DVD's right out of the box like the PS2 does though. I'd say Microsoft locked its DVD functions to force people into buying that extra kit.

Yeah. Aparently Lucasarts will be announcing Knights of the Old Republic 2 later this week and doing full demos at E3. Now is definately a good time to get an XBoX.

Meh, our DVD player came free with the TV we bought last month.

I suppose it makes sence to kick ur old DVD player and plonk a big XB there seems as that's more valuable ;)
