Gben 20 Posted November 4, 2009 Lu3kus already knows, and now you and I do. No patch notes or change log yet, but some stability issues apparently. EDIT: Tried a sandbox mode to see what was changed. Nothing obvious... we still have a wormy rocket man! ALEX06 posted these changes he has already noticed - Updated "Blood and Sand" map with new art (small Tiberium fauna, transparent TCN tubes, scaffolding and construction vehicles). - Graphics for Tiberium harvesting mechanic implemented. - New unit for GDI and Nod defense classes : Dozer/Slave (repairs units) - Individually upgradeable base defenses. - Fixed some infantry-related animation bugs. - Updated Crawler arrival animations. - Bug caused by clicking the delete key (recycle) on an undeploying Crawler fixed. (Sometimes they still sink in the ground, though) - Overall unit lethality upped (Units take less time to kill than in past revisions). - Captureable buildings no longer bug when dying in certain ways, nor do they sink into the ground. - Nod now has actual Obelisks of Light on their side instead of temporary ones used by the Support class. - Fonts changed. - Slider art changed. So no need to rush out and download the latest edition... Regarding the tiberium mechanic animation. I don't like the animation. The crystals are deployed from the sky in some sort of UFO, and then the units go pick them up. I like the gameplay mechanic of collection tiberium to earn your upgrades, but I don't like the dynamic of it been dropped onto the battlefield by some human device. I would much rather it be a progression of the tiberium vein we saw in KW... perhaps a detonation of a particular crystal that can crucial for weapon upgrades. Share this post Link to post

Gben 20 Posted November 4, 2009 Firefox started up with the last pages visited by accident, and so I spotted this post about the new tiberium harvesting mechanic... made me laugh. It makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. "Wow, look at that Red Flying Thing that just landed on that pad that was conveniently placed in the middle of nowhere!" "Wow, look at those FLOATING CRYSTALS that the Red Flying Thing dropped off! Let's pick them up!" *picks them up* "Wow, look at the FLOATING CRYSTALS that are hovering above my head in a green holographic sphere that seems to be following me!" *goes to spawn zone* "Hey!
