Nmenth 291 Posted December 26, 2009 I am curious, I have no current plans on this, but would it somehow be possible to make a weapon that causes a phase out like the Chrono Legionnaire, only temporary? Here is what I mean, a unit, say a 'Chrono Tank', shoots a Rhino. It causes normal damage, but also causes the Rhino to phase out for a half-second, effectively stunning it while the Chrono Tank rearms (maybe taking 1.5 seconds), reducing the times the Rhino can counter attack due to being repeatedly phased out. I know the temporal beam normally phases things out based on damage, so this weapon would need to cause damage twice. I considered ambient damage, but I doubt that would work, so maybe attaching it to an animation? Another thing that may cause a problem is if the phasing out made the tank to lose it as a target, since it doesn't know it is using both temporal and normal damage at the same time... but maybe that would only apply to any other units attacking it. Since I have no plans to create such a unit, I have tried none of this, but I'm wondering if it is something even worth trying? Share this post Link to post
Doctor Destiny 41 Posted December 26, 2009 This really isn't doable with an actual chrono beam because of the way the way weapon works. The beam is held constantly and the ROF determines how often the 'damage' is done, like any other weapon. But because of the way the weapon is drawn, the beam never disappears until the order is canceled or the unit is phased out. The only thing you could do is a conventional weapon with a semi-quick ROF and Temporal=yes on the warhead. Share this post Link to post

Doctor Destiny 41 Posted December 27, 2009 A unit that reloads a Temporal weapon. It may not phase the unit out by itself if the ROF is too high. Share this post Link to post
