Internal errors

Recommended Posts

The mod I made usually works just fine, but occasionally during longer games, it crashes thanks to some unknown internal error(s). I have no idea what the except.txt is supposed to tell me; please can somebody help me out?

It helps to update.

Indeed; but I created the mod on the original version, so I was afraid of things becoming messed up if I updated to a newer version.

It won't. You need 1.001 to distribute the mod anyway.

I downloaded the patch and it just won't install properly - goes to langmd.mix and says old file not found (I can see the langmd.mix in the game directory anyway). I clearly remember patching up to 1.001 on a different computer (the game being from the same disc). Now I can't find the game installation discs to reinstall the game... Any idea what I can do?

Ahh, those errors are quite annoying. And what is more annoying that saving as you go doesn't usually help either since you encounter another unknown internal error. I learned a possible way around the problem. Don't have two buildings with SpySat capabilities. You are only asking for UIE and any saved game made after you build to such structures will also be corrupted.

There's no issue with two structures using SpySat capability. Most times, it's something else that causes the crash. If you provide an except generated by YR 1.001, I can help determine the cause. If not, I know people who can help further.
