You gotta admit, these people really indicate that there just might be a future for the C&C series... If only EA would listen to them and bring them aboard (provided that they still have all the creative liberties they need once brought aboard).

It's not the lack of creativity or initiative, or will to do something groundbreaking from the Devs, it's that EA puts on way too short schedules.

I think it's also about the strict guidelines of design and process that are defined in the very beginning of development, that locks the developers on a straight track, taking much of the freedom they need to perfect the end product.

It's not unusual that developers at a late point end up finding out that the game is fundamentally flawed in terms of expectation. Usually the games are released anyway. Game development have become extremely expensive, and even a short development period on 9 months is a very large investment for the publisher.

We do see that developers who take a long time in developing come up with amazing games. Just look at Starcraft II. Years in the making, and it's undoubtedly the best RTS I've played in recent times. Or Halo; at least a year, even more, before a title is released (with the notable exception of Halo 3: ODST, which was just an expansion yet rocked anyway, and Halo Wars, which is just some Microsoft spinoff bull****).
