Jonttu 0 Posted March 27, 2011 Yea, so I created this topic so me, and anyone else could post any possible error reports they get in c&c95 on crashes and freeze-ups... I will be posting future error reports here mostly in screenshot form. Everyone else willing to help in reporting them can report them here in the same topic so as to make finding error reports less arduous as they could all be found in one topic in a summary form. Ty. Chimas 7 Posted March 27, 2011 Hi Jonttu, I'm not an expert but to achieve better results I think you might report also what you were doing ingame prior to the crash warn: deployed MCV, sold REF, etc ... Sometimes it's an INI mission problem, rather than a game bug itself. Nice, anyway! ; ] Share this post Link to post
Nyerguds 102 Posted March 27, 2011 yes, and actually writing down the instruction address from the crash saves me from copying it from the screenshot, so that'd be handy too 004DADDE: Solved for r2; see http://www.cnc-comm.com/community/index.php?topic=1562.0 Share this post Link to post

Well Nyer said I only need to report the error numbers and letters etc. And Nyerguds I might just make errors when writing down those reports. Besides well... this is easier for me. Well tho hopefully reporting these error reports here will help fixing the bugs in the long run and thus improve the gameplay experience. EDIT: When's rev2 coming out? Nyerguds 102 Posted March 27, 2011 Well Nyer said I only need to report the error numbers and letters etc. I never said that! I just said that the rest of the error reports you might get (from Windows) are useless to me. For reporting errors, you should: -WRITE DOWN the instruction address and the references address from the error message. Don't just give screenshots. Write it down in your post. It's not hard, and makes my job a lot easier. -Describe the situation in which it crashed; anything specific you were doing -Give your system specs. Windows version, CPU type, graphics adapter, amount of memory, that kind of stuff. EDIT: When's rev2 coming out? I kindly refer you to my newly written license agreement for patch 1.06c revision 2: By clicking "I agree" you acknowledge Nyerguds doesn't owe you anything. You relinquish your right to complain or express disappointment about any new features and added content, or missing features you'd prefer to be in there, like RA1-like skirmish AI that builds bases. If you do not agree with this, kindly abort the setup and don't bother me. ---- New one. 004386B1? Oh lol, that's a classic. crash when picking up crate that kills a unit. Please tell me which unit picked up the crate. Share this post Link to post
Jonttu 0 Posted March 27, 2011 Uhh okay. I dunno what unit picked up the crate nor do i know whose unit it was. Is this the humvee picking up exploding crate -bug? Is it fix'd? Share this post Link to post
Nyerguds 102 Posted March 27, 2011 Eh, I said it was "crash when picking up crate that kills a unit." I don't know if it's just with hummers, and I have no idea how to fix it at this moment, since I don't know what goes wrong there. I need more detailed information about the crash to fix it, and your information isn't helping me since you barely give me anything to work with. Share this post Link to post
Jonttu 0 Posted March 28, 2011 Hello again, today a new one occurred. Dunno what couldve caused it... any idea? The instruction at 0042a33b referenced memory at 000d4000 the memory could not be read from... Share this post Link to post
Nyerguds 102 Posted March 28, 2011 0042a33b: I got it marked in my database as "some cncnet crash". So yeah, no idea exactly what causes it, but it's been reported before. Looking at where that function is called from, it seems directly related to IPXManagerClass, meaning it's probably a bug in C&C's own LAN network code. I'm not touching that... Nyerguds 102 Posted March 29, 2011 I've decided to make a global topic for this, so I can have a list of all already-known crash addresses at the top which I can complete when new ones appear. So any new ones should be posted in that new topic. Thanks for the reports so far, Jonttu Share this post Link to post
