Tiberium Alliances Interview with EA Phenomic

Recommended Posts

EA Phenomic is a real-time strategy video game developer, headquartered in Ingelheim, Germany. The team there is currently at work on a browser based strategy MMO called Command & Conquer: Tiberium Alliances. Here at CNCNZ.com, we wanted to find our more about this interesting new genre for the Command & Conquer franchise, so we managed to arrange this interview. Below is a part of it.

Who came up with the idea for a C&C browser game?

The idea has been around for a long time, I don't think anyone can really claim credit for being the one who brought it up. A lot of different ideas have been discussed over the years, but now the time seemed right and the technology progressed far enough to turn it into reality.

How long has Tiberium Alliances been in development?

Depends on what you call the start of development. We have started working on the concept almost two years ago, did some prototyping, but it wasn't until February 2011 that we put a significant team behind it.

Will it ever be possible to own a GDI and Nod base?

Not on the same server.

This question/answer is written twice.

Fixed the error.

As far as I can tell we are the only English C&C fan site to have done one these interviews. Only 2 others I've found are German.

Doesn't surprise me really, considering how inactive (or near dead) many of the other English C&C fan sites are these days.

very nice interview i enjoyed the techical details, and they seem to know what they are doing and how they are moving step by step, its just so annoying that some of us dont have the change to play a single game :(

There will probably be more beta keys available in the near future.

I really did like this interview, it seem meaty, compared to the usual fluff and pr hype we normally get.

Thumbs up for all the users who gave us some good questions.

I'm sure any second now the haters will rock up and start the flame war, but until then, I'm enjoying the serenity.
