Should EA Make a Champions Arena?

Recommended Posts

The thought of ea making a place in the united states or any where else in the world for players of all status to come meet and join together and play for a f$$. I think that would be so great not anything like online networks. Somewhere that you could actually go and meet (TS), (Ra2), (Renegade) players and much more. Even the origanal games. The first cNc or Red Alert Arsineal . Even have a champion ship runoff once a year between the top 100 of each game. So what do you think post what ya think. Be glad to hear it. Blakmaglc

That would be awsome.... i suck to much and the games to like be any good but maaaaaaan what a cool idea!! a couple of my friends used to be in the top 100 in australia or the world at RA1 which i thought was pretty good...

but i rekon that is a good idea, becuase it gets the C&C community together more, it would make EA money and it would also make them realize that there are alot of people out there who do like and still play all the old WestWood games....

There was something like this before in Chicago and Tokyo. It was called BattleTech. It lasted maybe 5 years and then faded away due to lack of interest.

While it's great in theory, I don't think it's a sound business move. If you have enough people who can drive to a EA Arcade, what's keeping them from meeting at someone's house and networking their own computers together. Much more fun that way.

If they did make such a place, how much do you think they should or would charge for an hour?

I personally think the Internet provides just that. If it weren't for the cheaters, you could have a really good Internet tournament.

Well if EA gets thier act together and releases the ladder kit for Generals to the fansites like they promised months ago then the fansite community supported Generals Ladder could start.

A better way to go about it would be for EA to sponsor Internet Cafes into hosting the tournaments or get togethers. The I-cafes are already established, have the required computer infrastructure and clientele.

All EA would have to do would be to supply 8 copies of the game to each location and maybe come up with a way to keep track of usage so they could make a little bit of money, from the I-Cafe, for allowing them to be a authorized gaming center.

This way would be a win-win scenario for everyone:

No overhead for EA, just monthly revenue.

New clientele for the I-Cafes.

Gamers would now have public places to meet and play.

How's that sound to you? :D

here in florida on the news they had a LAn tortament in Miami and Zero hour was the featured game. I couldn't go that night but it was a 6 day tortament with 7 games and zero hour was the featured one. My friend went and won 200 dollars for getting in 2nd place and he won some items.

so maybe they will make one of those more often

They should make a champions arena but there will be many problems facing it like other people hacking etc... and it will most likely be taken down unfortunately if it will be made thats what happens when a 'Champions' arena's are made.

Yes that would be a very cool thing although with games that are falling now i don't know if it would be possible considering the ra2 server now shut down and what not. Blakmaglc
