C&C Renovatio - Hunter in the Skies

Recommended Posts

This news slipped by us recently. A week or so ago the C&C Renovatio mod team posted some new screen shots featuring a look at the Apache Longbow and the Helipads.

Check out more new screen shots right here.

That's a very impressive update, except for the helipads. They look like fat concrete pancakes. They should really use the original design instead of "reinterpreting" it to make it look worse. If you really have to "reinterpret" it, just add more to the original design like they did with the Barracks in that image.

The helipads onto themselves don't look bad, but they seem to be slightly out of place when compared to the rest. The detail on this mod is ****ing amazing, though, respect.

Everything but those helipads looks great. They almost seem like an afterthought. Also, what's the point of having a helicopter pad with a ramp if there's a raised lip where it meets the ground? It just looks odd.

Uhm that is how they looked in TD/RA oO

Also in my opinion the Helipad is the most refined building they have by far, the other seem low detailed compared to it. Especially the Rax.

Actually, it's not. ;-) The helipads on TD/RA are shaped more like a wrist watch. They have ramps that lead up with no lip on the edge. I can see some deviation due to the design aesthetic they're going with (in-between RA/TD) but the pancake look just doesn't fit.

That's the helipad from CC1. I'm not saying that it's undetailed, just that it looks like a fluffy pancake instead of a concrete helicopter pad.
