C&C Generals Evolution Unit Demo RC1 Released

Recommended Posts

This New Year's Day is obviously a good day for C&C mods. A unit demo, or release candidate 1, of the Generals Evolution mod for Red Alert 3 has been released today. The focus of this release are basic units and placeholder structures with stable skirmish and multiplayer modes that use original maps from Generals. The next release can be expected to have faction-specific buildings, possible construction on water, better visuals and better balancing.

a technical question: what is the RNA/SAGE 2 engine in RA3 differ from that of the TIberian Twilight, i spent time and attention to analysis the visual and graphic, they do look different, is it to do with the internal setting or tiberian twilight have some new code/script written into it, cause I think the one in Tiberian Twilight is better!!

Well, TT must have a more improved engine since it's newer. Just look at the damage effects on units. But you can barely mod TT :P

you know, i may be wrong on this, but i observed there are some kind of indirect lighting/illumination thing in the shader of TT... wonder if it can be activated in RA3 engine, but then the thing i most hate about the RA3 graphic is that its got that glow effect on units and building and that also somehow make the graphic looks plasticee

Sure you can, but that will require some programmer knowledge.
