neogrant 4 Posted January 28, 2013 So XWIS has received a lot of support messages in regards to this, I'm wondering if anyone has come across a potential fix? The trick of extending the desktop for win7 works fine, but doesn't seem to work for win8, so I'm hoping someone has an answer we can try out. Or if someone knows the actual cause of this to look into a patch, that would be helpful too. Share this post Link to post
PurpleGaga27 40 Posted January 28, 2013 Couldn't you use the classic start-up menu (third party app) for Windows 8? Old programs (especially games) on the Metro start up screen aren't going to work and show up well. Share this post Link to post
neogrant 4 Posted January 28, 2013 I don't have WIN8 myself just asking on behalf of many. but that's interesting, is there a built in option to put it to classic? Share this post Link to post

Traymen 6 Posted February 6, 2013 (edited) Forasmuch Tiberian Sun is right now in really messy resolution, i play in Windowed Mode so i don't have an issue with menu bug. If this helps anyone you're welcome. Edited February 6, 2013 by Traymen Share this post Link to post
Doctor Destiny 41 Posted February 7, 2013 That's how I got Tiberian Sun and Red Alert 2 to run under Windows 8. I had to force a window but other than that, the games play spectacularly. Share this post Link to post
Sonic 295 Posted February 7, 2013 If you have a large desktop resolution, say 1920 x 1080 or higher, it can't be much of a problem to play Tiberian Sun and Red Alert 2 in windowed mode can it? Share this post Link to post
Traymen 6 Posted February 7, 2013 (edited) It mostly depends on personal feelings, but you can force resolution up to 1024 x 768 (limit of playability) and game screen is even handy, 'coz while you have fun you may surf internet or chat with someone on IRC/ ICQ or whatever without minimising game screen (just Right Click on Windows Bar and select convenient option).
