54 differences between C&C franchise and Craft franchise

Recommended Posts

Note: The word Craft was meant to originate both Starcraft and Warcraft franchises.

CNC-Inside ran an article about this trying to illustrate that C&C has different roots from Craft games.

C&C and Starcraft are fundamentally different games. I know some people would consider Starcraft to be more, tactical, and C&C to be more spammy.

Personally I like both. :)

I think C&C felt very open and comfortable compared to Starcraft/Warcraft where I felt kind of locked and limited.

I enjoy building pretty bases and pumping big armies much more than I enjoy performing as many actions per minute as possible. On the other hand, I enjoy watching a good StarCraft II tournament match much more than I enjoy watching any tournament C&C match.

I see them as two pioneers going in different directions. I would rather not compare them too much because of their many differences.

Personally, the audio, cool art direction and lack of population cap was among the reasons I preferred the C&C games over the many alternatives in the RTS genre.

edit: bad grammar

IMO for the differences:

Starcraft and Warcraft -- slower gameplay and high macro-management; epic fantasy stories

C&C -- faster gameplay and high micro-management; epic non-fantasy stories

RA doesn't relate to any previous games. It's just constant building aggresive stances between USSR / Russia (more political correctness) and USA. It's just boring. Even Generals were made for therefore latest conflict between Afghanistan / Iraq vs USA.

P.S. I am "bit" tipsy so dont bother with my opinion... damn d09g...

Never was, obviously never will be.

Hard to read (poor google translation) but some interesting differences which I had forgotten about - like that C&C doesn't require full payment upfront... which makes a lot difference ingame.

I love them both - I enjoy the slow tactical gameplay of SC and the fast and furious of C&C.

I find a win in SC is very satisfying, and a win in C&C is a lot of fun.
