How would you like a new Blade Runner movie?

Recommended Posts

There will be a remake but it will be a sequel. Ridley Scott is definitely going for it.

Well, that's a piece of good news.

More epic than J.J. Abrams' Star Trek? Yep.

More epic than Dune? Yep. (since people's attempts to remake the movie had failed)

Now what about a remake of the game? Who will do it? I wouldn't bet on EA since they shut down Westwood Studios over a decade ago.

I don't get the hype surrounding that movie, I mean its alright, but doesn't seem that brilliant.

I guess it's a "you had to be there" kind of thing - a movie of it's times.

They rave about "Citizen Kane" too... and while I enjoyed the B&W beauty, it doesn't get any where near 'my' top 20 movies of all time.

"Ridley Scott is definitely going for it"

Ridley Scott is definitely gonna ruin it, sorry ...

\edit

ok, one of the source is from May, 2012.

The critic was "waiting for Prometheus to come out" ...

No, please no no no no!!!

Ridley Scott version is barerly based on Philip K. Dick book... more precisely, it doesn't even bother with novel. It is something between stoned author and vision of director, but nothing is related straight forward from book.

Of course there are main characters and secondary, but they are very shallow and even a spectator who read a book won't understand what's going on the screen. Example: last scene where android is telling Deckard about war (or something like that) - i don't see a reason why this talk is even happening. Book ends in completly other way - far way deeper then this crap - and main idea which stands behind whole story isn't even mentioned.

First of all, he had a WIFE (sic!), but in the movie he just want to get laid with android from Rosen Company.

Secondly, his second half have a huge gap in her existence, which is filled by an empathy box - more precisely by a vision of old man who climbs on the hill. Each time he reaches the top he get hit by a thrown stone from nowhere. The whole book is build-on personality of this guy - which is very surprising (but anyone can describe him in his own way). In movie ain't even mentioned.

Thirdly, the android empathy test - in book Deckard has some doubts. In movie he just do "Rambo-style" and "THE END".

And when i see, that this one-title director ("Alien: 8th Passenger of Nostromo") wants to make a far way complex movie than "gore" one, i just praise the Lord (which is hard for me - agnostic) he will die in diarrhea before he even start shooting... REALLY! How can be possible, that there are some people on this planet who want's to give a huge amount of money, to a guy, who can't even make a movie directly based on novel... geez!

Same problem have a Herbert's "Dune". Each director who touched this novel changed it to piece of crap - unwatchable, boring, ugly story.

If Peter Jackson would make those movies i would be grateful....
