Worst Company In America 2014 is Comcast!

Recommended Posts

Final results: http://consumerist.com/2014/04/08/congratulations-to-comcast-your-2014-worst-company-in-america/

Old post:

This time I shall nominate for a company other than EA and BoA: http://consumerist.com/2014/02/28/this-weekend-think-about-that-most-coveted-of-golden-statuettes-the-worst-company-in-america-trophy

There's still a good chance that EA shall be the worst company in America for the third year in a row thanks to BF4 issues, SimCity issues and of course the political destruction of C&C: http://consumerist.com/2013/12/30/is-ea-due-for-a-third-worst-company-in-america-crown

Haha, oh it would be funny if EA got it three years in a row wouldn't it?

No, it would be stupid. Every time a company like EA wins, whose crimes against humanity extend to the point of ticking off gamers, it makes this award even less important than it was before. Its level of utter insignificance has already surpassed that of a single, three-legged Argentine ant in the Mediterranean supercolony.

I always thought the award was a joke, like the razzies, and the nobel peace prize. :P

Its only the anti-EA crybabies who give a **** about this **** anyway.

I found something more about EA:

By next Monday, the answer will be there.

There are worse companies than EA. Bank of America, Verizon and AT&T. Three US companies far, far more insidious than EA.

Something tells me this award is complete nonsense if EA wins two years in a row (or at all). I mean come on! There must be some people in the entire USA that works under worse conditions than those under the flag of a veteran entertainment company like Electronic Arts.

On a side note shouldn't it be called "Worst Company In USA 2014" instead of "Worst Company in America 2014"?

You mean because nobody knows which of the Americas they mean otherwise? After all, if not the globally-understood shortening of a certain country's full name, it could be one of two continents rarely referred to by just the one word, or any of numerous tiny towns virtually no one has ever heard of, or it could even be a person with the name - which would be awkward since companies don't usually exist in people. It could also possibly mean some media using that name, that is, if anyone on the face of the Earth cared how bad companies in some random film (most likely about one of the afore-mentioned Americas (most most likely that one country)) were.

Of course, "USA" is probably even less specific, but certainly the better choice.

The brackets are up and the voting starts tomorrow (yes, it's March Madness with the brackets, similar to how Gamespot did):

First round.... EA vs Time Warner Cable? Come on......

That would be the wrong way of understanding what I meant. It just caught my attention as appearing a bit incorrect. That's it and that's all. I guess on an over-exaggerated level, you could compare it to when North Korea refers to North Korea as just Korea, which is not wrong but might seem slightly arrogant to those who aren't living there. Nitpicking! :)

Here are the companies for the final four:

Wal-Mart (people trying to land a job there = almost impossible, plus terrible worker reliability, support and servicing)

Sea World (probably there are people protesting against animal rights all over again... this time for the killer whales)

Comcast (trying to monopolize the market by buying Time Warner Cable when NBC Universal is still struggling)

Monsanto (recent agricultural issues involving genetically-altered and patented seeds and plants)

What the chances that the world's largest retailer (Wal-Mart) be the worst company in America? Slim chance.

Comcast has won the worst company in America for 2014: http://consumerist.com/2014/04/08/congratulations-to-comcast-your-2014-worst-company-in-america/

As for the comments I read, voting method is worse in Consumerist than how Gamespot handled their own bracket(s).
