RA3 & Uprising Don't Launch

Recommended Posts

Been having an itch to play some EA Command and Conquer but it won't let me. I recently had to reinstall Windows so I had to redownload C&C3 and RA3, and now they won't launch. I've set the executables to XP SP3 compatibility and to run as admin, but still nothing. Tried bibber's fixed launchers but still not working. I used the switch bibber's launchers include to launch a game directly instead of with the launcher. Still doesn't do ****. It tries to start since I'll see RA3Launcher.exe and RA3EP1.exe under Processes. However, I don't get anything and I'm not sure what else I need to check. The game (and TW as well) worked fine on this machine with Origin and TUC. I have no idea what changed unless launching with the -win switch causes an issue for the first launch.

Tried launching without Origin?

Go into Origin, click the game (in this case either C&C3 or RA3), click the "i" button to the left of "play", click "Game Properties" and check the box "Disable Origin in game for this game" and then launch RA3 or C&C3(...)

Also, are you sure you have the latest fixed launchers? They were updated recently to v1.15 and tend to work better, especially with parameters.

It used to work fine with Origin enabled and I don't know what launchers I have. I only got them a few months ago so if it's been within the last few months, no, I have old ones. They worked fine before so I don't understand why it would quit working now all of a sudden.

Well, just try the newest launchers and, if necessary, disabling Origin, just to see if it really is a problem related to either of those. If that doesn't work, I'll ask Bibber, Lauren or CGF123 to lend a hand.
