Petroglyph was started by former Westwood people who didn't make the move to EALA. The community has known about Petroglyph for ages now so its nothing new to us.

A few months ago rumours were circulating that Petroglyph were making the next C&C game, while we all wanted that to be true it wasn't. Adam Isgreen at EALA said EA own C&C and Petroglyph are working on their own stuff. Search the news archives and you will probably find this stuff buried there somewhere.

I wonder when Petroglyph will announce this Killer Top-Secret Project![/b] of theirs?

The annoying thing is that they haven't updated the news page since June 25th Since Moving into the New building... This is making me forget about them until somebody brings them to attention again....

Obviously they are most likely working on a new RTS, but the question is... What on earth is it about, and when are they going to announce it!!!???

Saying that they have secured a publisher, but won't say who. They've kepot us in the dark and we've gotta know something now!!

My guess is that the RTS (if that's what they've got in store for us) will be everything we wanted from C&C 3 and along the same lines, but won't be obviously. I have a feeling that the publisher is either Codemasters or UbiSoft, but I got that info somewhere and I doubt it's even 20% accurate.

Good thing is though... Frank Klepacki is in that team picture on the site, so yes, we will get to hear more of his music in games soon. There have been reports the Joe Kucan has recently joined the team... So I wouldn't be suprised to see him in their game movies...

But we must be patient... I think they are waiting for the announcement of C&C 3.... Once that happens they'll announce their title, and make it clear to everybody that they were once Westwood... Then we'll see an interesting War explode between the unexperience Corporate EA company and the small yet veteran Petroglyph Company...

If the Petroglyph team bring out an RTS game, I'd like your permission Sonic to hold tribute to the Ex-Westwood team, and have a network site opened to cover Petroglyph and their games... But only if it is an RTS game.

Other developers with ex-westwood staff include:

http://www.supervillainstudios.com/ - Staff include those Westwood staff who worked on Generals and Zero Hour for EA, then got sacked!!

http://www.liquid-entertainment.com/ - Ed Castillo co-founder of Westwood also co-founded this company, and have made 2 rather cool RTS games, which I have... frankly EA have copycat this company's latest game...

I'd have to think about that, it all depends the type of game.

We'll just have to wait and see.

How long has it been since Petroglyph has been founded? Because it takes at least a year to make a complete game, and that is only if you already have a complete infrastructure (like EA has). So my guess is that they won't release/announce a game until they exist 2 years.
