PurpleGaga27 40 Posted January 15, 2017 (edited) I never knew this existed last year, and the one before that.... and I thought unofficial Win7 SP2 updates by 3rd party users other than Microsoft may have already been released. F****** Microsoft should have made it an all-in-one setup package for a simpler installation; instead they did the hard way. It was actually more different when MS did it to Windows 8.1 and as for Win10 MS pretty much make it cumulative by releasing full version setup ISO files and some cumulative patches through Windows Update. First I found this info: http://www.howtogeek.com/255435/how-to-update-windows-7-all-at-once-with-microsofts-convenience-rollup The one problem is that Microsoft removed a critical download link(s) to a April 2015 stack update and all sites pointing to that never get updated to correct the download page. Also that SP2 update to both 32 and 64-bit versions of Win7 does not include cumulative security and other updates to Internet Explorer which kinda sucks. Since the April 2015 stack update for Windows 7 is a update with an update code 3020369, I actually found the downloads here (SP1 must be installed before this update and then install the convenience rollup): http://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=3020369 For the convenience rollup: http://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=3125574 Edit: By the way, the Microsoft catalog update website (pretty much the index) is more useful to search for any update you wish for as long as the download links are present. P.S - It gets grimmer by the moment when Microsoft decided to close down the security bulletin (with an online replacement) for all OSs: http://www.computerworld.com/article/3157832/windows-pcs/microsoft-slates-end-to-security-bulletins-in-february.html Edited January 15, 2017 by PurpleGaga27 Share this post Link to post
TaxOwlbear 20 Posted January 15, 2017 Isn't the Service Pack just the collection of all the updates anyway? Share this post Link to post
Plok 327 Posted January 15, 2017 And the problem is... ? The problem is that the download links for the April 2015 servicing stack update on support.microsoft.com are broken, and Zocom likes to overreact on such things even though he found a working link on catalog.update.microsoft.com. Isn't the Service Pack just the collection of all the updates anyway? ...until 2011. There's been lots released since SP1, which made setting up Windows 7 past that point rather long. I don't even use that system so i couldn't care less. Share this post Link to post
