My PC is extremley slow when loading games (any) and even slower when playing LAN or Online. Even so, Generals sometimes crashes. alongside other cool games like Rome: Total War. My system specs:

 

128 MB Radeon 9200 pro

256 MB RAM

Athlon 1200 XP

DSL Modem (Nokia) 100 MBPS (max)

I forgot what my motherboard is.

40 Gig HD

Yeah another 256 MB of RAM would help.

Scan for viruses and spyware. Get the right programs for this from http://www.cncnz.com/files/support/dlfiles.shtml

Use both Spybot and Ad-Aware.

 

Also defrag your hard drive.

Hm... I'll buy RAM if I have money. Also, I already have Ad-Aware. I'll scan my PC as soon as possible.

And I think you need a new processor. Buy at least a 2.0 Ghz processor.

To upgrade to a new CPU he would probably have to upgrade his motherboard and ram at the same time.

Use more than one Ad and spy removing application as Sonic said, you're likely to pick up more, and your computer will benefit.

 

Also, download Super Utils, google it, and use it to remove any unwanted random files.
