Zero Hour Lagging on Opening EA Screen

Recommended Posts

Guest Damian

Help!

I have the proper versions of Generals and Zero Hour.

However when i load both games it lags really badly on the EA Sports : Challenge Everything screen, it takes about 10-15 mins to get thru that screen (and it should only take seconds :( )

When i get the game running it can work for hours, or it will only work for minutes before it crashed with the "serious error" message.

I have updated drivers for everything, my comp is alot higher than the recommended spec. The only thing i'm missing is Service Pack 1 and 2 from windows updates, could this be the problem?

Could be....perhaps your system is overheating? How does it handle other high spec games like Doom3 and Half Life 2?

defragment, run adaware to remove spyware (if you don't know where to d/l adaware go to google.com and search), if it still hangs up your system may not be able to go faster.

the crash screen that you get happens to me a lot, i really hate it how they had to add overheatring hardware to it because i know my system temps and i know their wrong.

How old is your Windows installation? If its more than a year sounds like a good time to back up your important data, format your hard drive and re-install Windows.

I suspect and overheating issue here as well. I quick way to tell is to run your computer with the side panel removed, play your game for a while a see what happens.

I don't think not having SP1 or SP2 installed would matter. But in most cases Windows XP seems to be more stable with SP2. Installing SP2 on a fresh install of Windows XP is a good idea.
