Disclaimer: I do not support the Nazi party in any way, shape or form. The symbol does not represent the Nazi party in any way, shape or form. The symbol is merely that and has no bearing on historical events; it is simply the new faction's insignia of war. Big thanks to Speeder and Blodo for allowing me to use this. The swastika was not created by the Greeks- it was an ancient Germanic religious symbol that was the symbol of the thunder god Thorr (a popular god)- the swastika's shape was supposed to represent crossed lighning bolts. The Nazis were appealing to the Germanic national history by choosing the swastika as the symbol of their party. The swastika (reversed) is also a Hindu religious symbol as well. And why choose such a loaded symbol for a new faction if it isn't going to be related to the Nazi party? Share this post Link to post

So DON'T USE A CONTROVERSIAL IMAGE as their symbol! That symbol carries with it a certain cultural power... unless you intend on harnessing it, why use it at all? Either way, the image is controversial for a reason... I have a point behind it but it's not up for public release yet. Besides, you don't know the story behind the new faction so you don't understand the choice of symbolism. Just be patient... It will all be explained in time... Besides, this is the only place so far that seems to be trying to kill of the symbol... Stop being so uptight and remember one thing: this exists for a game and a game alone. "We people" (just me, actually) are "whining" :roll: about the nazi symbol in this case--I have no problem with using it in a game--because it doesn't actually reflect nazism! I wasn't whining/offended- I was wondering why choose that symbol if they weren't Nazis (the hammer and sickle was acceptable because the enemies in Red Alert are Soviets/communists)? Obviously there would be people who would be offended-but now I have my answer and I'll have to wait and see until the mod comes out to understand why. Share this post Link to post

Also, there are some leaders (in history) who killed off people more than stalin and were nearly unknown to the world.. i don't know them myself, but i heard of it. I might research on it...
