KenRae 0 Posted April 15, 2005 Alright, i've been fooling around with the Tibed prog and decided that i wanted to give the Russians in RA2/Yuri some fastmover airpower = Migs. I copied over an airfield and copied Boris' airstrike Migs over to become a buildable unit attached to the airfield as their 'dock'... seems perfectly fine except: in the game i can't seem to limit the build of the migs to 4 units per airfield... and when they go out to attack always one of them would not land again - it would hover, fly out, return a couple of times and then crash. No matter what i did it never fixed the problem so i deleted them. I would love to put them back in - especially if i could get them to have a secondary missile against air targets also!! Can anyone help me? Share this post Link to post
Cygnus X-1 12 Posted April 15, 2005 I got my MiGs to work, except that they have unlimited ammo, they cant be box selected on the airfield, and theres no build limit. I just set the locomotor to the Black Eagle, but for some reason the MiGs land on the ground too. And I set the dock to the regular AFC and gave the AFC to the Soviets, but made the Black Eagle and Harrier only buildable with Allied prerequsites. On your crashing problem, my MiGs used to crash, but now the dont. You might have to set some feature of the AFC to have MiGs or something. Share this post Link to post
Doctor Destiny 41 Posted April 16, 2005 Clone the Black Eagle and give the MiG image. Fastest method. Edit the entries as you must. Prerequisites, cost, voices, etc etc. Also add it to the PadAircraft= list. Share this post Link to post
Wildshield 0 Posted April 17, 2005 Also, it can not have a secondary weapon for dog fights this way. If the unit wasn't dock/airport bound you could. Much like a balloon hover or jumpjet type unit like seige chopper. Share this post Link to post

I've had my MiGs for over a year, and not once did I think of Cloning a Black Eagle and modifying it. Share this post Link to post
Cygnus X-1 12 Posted April 22, 2005 What, the cloning? I think you have to do it manually for RA2/YR, but yeah it is. Also goota edit String table to get the name displayed right. TS system was easier in my opinion. Share this post Link to post
ugkrut 0 Posted April 27, 2005 no in tibed u can just click onthe add button below the list of units in the aircraft (if ur cloning an aircraft) Share this post Link to post
Cygnus X-1 12 Posted April 27, 2005 Only saw that feature for TS, not RA2. Maybe I need to look agains.... Share this post Link to post
Doctor Destiny 41 Posted April 28, 2005 Why use TibEd? It's faster in the rules file itself. Share this post Link to post
ugkrut 0 Posted April 29, 2005 yeh i agree with Ferning. Why use TibEd? It's faster in the rules file itself. Share this post Link to post
Cygnus X-1 12 Posted April 30, 2005 But it takes forever to find the stuff. But for new weapons and animations ,then the rules is faster, so your right. Share this post Link to post
Wildshield 0 Posted April 30, 2005 I use Tibed to edit some rules and then save them to a wordpad file sometimes. Helps out alot when you don't want to edit another unit or creating one from scratch. Share this post Link to post
Doctor Destiny 41 Posted April 30, 2005 Using "Find" and "copy and paste" must be unknown tricks to you people. :| Share this post Link to post
Cygnus X-1 12 Posted April 30, 2005 the "find" (control+F) only works so much. If you use it one something, then do something else, then try to find that same something agains, it wont see it. Wierd. And copy and paste is the only saving grace of the thing (in my opinion) Share this post Link to post
