The movie was very good I thought. It flowed somewhat nicely using some past villains, to many I don't think know much about, into the story. Though only a few spots I felt were a little off knowing the comic book side. Timelines never seem to go with the silver screen for most games or comic characters.

To sum it up, it was a good movie on its own, the BEST Batman movie and a GREAT Comic Book Movie if not the Best.

Personally I think it beats every other Comic Book Movie out there...

It's dark and has a touch of realism. Everything is explained in a manner that would make you believe it could actually happen. As for Gotham, you can feel the desperate nature that Gotham is in. It's a rich city built upon a realm of criminality which owns half of Gotham and the rich are afraid to stand up to them.

If you hated the look of the Batmobile, you'll love it when you see it in action. The Bat suit will diappoint some fans since it's made out of rubber BUT like the Batmoblie, it fits into context and you'll probably appreciate it. No bat nipples this time around.

The actors did a great job in their roles. Christian Bale made Batman a terrifying character to watch and turned Bruce Wayne into a multilayered person. The PERFECT Batman. Liam Neeson as Ducard was awesome as Bruce Wayne's mentor... He is relentless yet filled with wisdom. Something that Qui Gon didn't have. Michael Caine is again awesome, he is sarcastic, funny and a great father figure for Bruce in the movie just like in the comics. Props to him. The villain Scarecrow is a psycho. Nuff said. I could go on naming every other characters in the movie but that that would take too long but props to the smaller roles. They helpped give credibility to the movie.

Even though Katie Holmes is hot, I'm not a big fan of the love angle in the movie.

I'm a little disappointed that a lot of people aren't flocking to the theaters like they did with Spider-Man but I guess "Batman and Robin" is the reason why.

I think Spiderman was more of easy going character from the comics, and why its more a family type movie. Batman is a dark patch in life that would confuse or question some to why they would want to watch it.

Though I think this new series of batman movies that should be coming out in the next couple of years will tame from killing off the villain. Like for Ra... Lazarus Springs is all the brotherhood of the shadow needs for their leader. Though he'll become a tad bit more insane but hey it's only a side effect. Remember the second robin when he was resurrected in the springs? Pretty cool to see him become evil from the event. Bah I'm babbling about the comics...

I've only seen the previews trailers etc... but this looks like the sort of Batman movie I've been waiting for.

Batman is a dark, complex character, Tim Burton's version of Batman in 1989 was closest thing to how he should be from the comics. Not that stupid version like in Batman & Robin and the messed up story lines introducing Batgirl and all that.... that movie sucked.

The problem with Batman movies has always been that the villans steal the show. Think about it.....

- Jack Nicholson/Joker/Batman, he was brillant! He all the best lines.

- Danny DeVito/Penguin/Batman Returns, who else could have played the Penguin?

- Michelle Pfeiffer/Catwoman/Batman Returns, they probably could have used any actress really as long as she fit into the skin tight suit.

- Tommy Lee Jones/Two-Face/Batman Forever, I've always like this guy in all of his movies.

- Jim Carey/Riddler/Batman Forever, perfectly cast I've always thought, perhaps a tad over acted, but that what Jim Carey does.

- Arnold Schwarzenegger/Mr Freeze/Batman & Robin, probably the only saving grace in this horrible movie. Arnie overshadowed Clooney in a major way throught out the entire crap flim.

- Uma Thurman/Poison Ivy/Batman & Robin, they added this character since it work so well in Batman Returns with DeVito/Pfeiffer but when your in any movie with Arnie you WILL take a back seat.

That really is a good point sonic... this movie is all about batman, and it is handled better- by leaps and bounds- than any other batman movie.

Fact remains also that Christian Bale who plays the new batman has a great temperment in his acting. He can remain dark when the need is called for, an can be a completely different person in other roles... The contrast works so well in this movie, an any actor who can bring the character to life and make him stand out beyond the darkness of Gotham City, has got it made.

To top it off it is directed by Christopher Nolan, who is better known for Memento (a must see!), insomnia and various film noir movies. Since this movie requires a partial film noir presence within it, I see no better man who could have done the job. He is a director that focusses more on realism without losing the vision he has within. Which is one of the reasons why this film is so different from the others. The people who have taken on this movie are made for it.

Maybe it's because Christian Bale, Christopher Nolan and a few other actors in this film are British, it makes this film very different this time. An American portrayal of Batman, is different from a british point of view. It's probably a culture thing.... and this could be classed as a "British" film in a hollywood setting.

Memento, Very good movie. Yes, a must see!

Yes, Batman and Batman Returns were great because they didn't go hollywood like the next two. If the movie can stay dark and true to the comic book world and out of that "lets sell tickets and fill those seats" like hollywood wants, by making a cheesy story with big names, then the movie will become a classic for many to watch.

Don't know much about the director guy, but I never knew Christian Bale was British, his IMDB profile confirms that http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000288/

When I think of Christian Bale, I think of him as Patrick Bateman in American Psycho.

Looks like there all set to begin the next Batman. Bale, Freeman, Caine, have signed up to do another one, and guess what, there briniging the Joker back. Dnt quite see how that is going to work as we saw the whole story of the Joker, unless its a remake of the original Batmanthat starred Micheal Keaton and Jack Nicholson, which i still believe to be the best Batman.

This Batman is the best batman i have ever seen. However the first 45 minutes of it is a waste of time and just not batman. They make him look like a Steven Segal. Batman never went to Japan to learn to overcome his fear, and to learn to be a samurai. And why was Qui-Gon Jin in the movie? I thought i was in a weird Star Wars movie. Overall i loved the movie. The car was pretty cool. This movie is a MUST SEE. See it in IMAX, it's awesome!
