I are confused

Hey, there is a string editor in tibed for yuri's revenge I was messing with... It is the part that affects the multiplayer section.

 

When you choose a country, and click start game, it says something based on the country you choose, example: "america has the best paratroopers in the world, drop paratroopers anywhere..."

 

Now, I went into the string editor, and I changed what it says to something else, but then when I saved it to a map, it didn't work, and so I decided to run the entire game with the changes, and it still didn't work... so... is there anything else I need to do?

If you try to save changes to a map it will not work. Since there is no string file attached to a map file. So you can only use strings that already in the CSF list.

 

Unknown, if making your changes in the CSF string section will work. Something's for Tibed simply don't work right, only because the program is meant to be a unit editor. Though I've found that when you do make a change, click on something else in the editor to make them kick in. I think this is for the auto save function.

When I click that, it takes me to something that says, "Page not found"...

 

I found a CSF file on the site, but it wasn't a script editor, it was just a file called RA2md.csf...

OH! I just found my own way... I'm sorry Fenring, but I found out how to do it using TibEd...

lol... tibed should work.... i prefer using the XCC string editor... it's not as organized, and there is no find function, but still better than nothing right now..

tibed only works if you save it to the game, not the map, cause when you put it in the game, a file goes into the RA2 folder.

there is a button that saves it to the map i think.. i did that before..

That button should just say "save to file". It never effects normal maps just wordpad files if you happend to use them.

i think there is a command in the top options somewhere saying export to map... that works... i think
