Are the PM messages really private? Or can the Admins/modderators read them...?

They are 100% private, we do not have access to them whatsoever, but we do encourage any misuse or abuse of the Private messaging facility to be reported to us ASAP and the message forwarded to us...

 

Apart from that Myself and Sonic do have full access to your accounts and we can change whatever we see fit. Not that we do unless you are breaking forum protocol :wink:

OK I contradicted myself in that last post, if we really wanted to we could look at your PMs by logging in under your name after a quick change of password...

 

But we will not operate in such a way anyway, since we do respect your right to privacy. Unless it is under certain extreme cases, then should we need to take certain things to Internet providers or possibly authorities. But we are talking extreme circumstances here, and we never wish for that to happen. That is the reason why we have rules.

I have had reuests to change a name, and others like passwords cos someone has forgotten it, and such, but apart from that, nothing major...

.... so technically modders and admin could accsses your account and post spam / pm anything they wanted..... would explain alot i guess but does the website have an IP tracker and are IP addresses loged for each post?

Yes. Posts, not sure about PMs, are logged by IP so we'd know if something was amiss.
