Image Uploader Now Available

I have finally finished the Image Uploader for the forums. Actually it was ready a few days ago I just never got around to let you all have access to it

 

Anyway, simply click the Image Upload link at the top the page, the upload page will load in a new window.

 

A short explanation of the upload page....

• Enter you forums username here

[*]Related Link: If you starting a new thread with an image included leave this blank. If your replying include the URL to the thread here.

[*]Image to Upload: I think you know what this means.

• Entering these details helps the admin team track images.

 

There are extra details to read about this on the main Image Uploader page.

 

Before uploading anything please read the Information page. To view the current list of uploaded files you can use the View uploaded files page.

 

Maximum size of any image uploaded must be less than 400KB otherwise your upload will be rejected.

 

Lastly, and remember this......

The images uploaded here will be deleted at the end of each month or so this should not be considered a permanant storage solution for your images. All uploads are logged including your IP address, date and time.

Where do the images go?

Once the file is uploaded your given the link to the image to so you can copy and pasted it. You can view all currently uploaded images on the View uploaded files page

Just a note about the image uploader. I have noticed some people simply don't read the information on the page at all and have ignored the notice at the end of the upload page that states.....

 

Please Note: The images uploaded here will be deleted at the end of each month or so this should not be considered a permanant storage solution for your images. Don't upload images for your avatars/signatures here. All uploads are logged including your IP address, date and time.

So if you have any images uploaded there to use as your avatars/signatures you should think about moving them. Come the end of the month I start deleting the crap.

You should make a big link to Imageshack that says, "Do Sonic a favour, and use Imageshack." :wink:

 

Or at least a big sign on the CNCNZ main page somewhere.

Tried it once..but it keep telling me "file to big" or "file format wrong"

Well if its larger than 400kb it won't be accepted.

 

And if it isn't either .jpg .gif or .png then it won't be accepted.

Using something like ImageShack is fine but you really shouldn't link off site or hot-link to images. Many people running sites have to pay for bandwith and don't take people hot-linking their files or images very kindly.

 

Many of you don't know that that reason I created the uploader in the first place is due to an incident we had were someone hot-linked an image in the POTD thread, a few days later the image was changed at the source so it displayed a very disgusting image here on our forums :shock:

 

For the sake of our forums use our uploader or one of the other free image hosting services listed below.
