EAGLE RED 2.0(a) YR Asian Aliance MOD

Hello World

 

I want to know something about a MOD I think to be one of the best :

 

Is there someone who got EAGLE RED 2.0 for Yuri's revenge (AA mod)?

 

I just have the 1.7 but i'm looking for the 2.0 a long time ago !! if you have it please tell me where i can find it !

I just installed it --- wholy HELL is that something else. actually took me 2 hours to beat a pair of MEDIUM skirms. sheeeeeesh! nicely done overall.

That's clear! the AI has been upgraded... Also, I like the concept of the Asian Alliance, to introduce China in game (just one thing bad about it -> Yuri's clan is away because replaced with AA's clan (China) i would both).

 

Awful thing THERE IS NO UPDATE >< since.... ..... i'm wondering what happened for?

 

(I don't want to get out the post....) other-thing: From now on without update, do you think you have got a better MOD currently? what's named?

You know, for ****'s and giggles, I may take the old versions of ER and make it an RP mod so you can have the Chinese and Yuri at the same time. The coding's already there so it wouldn't take but a few hours to have a working copy.

 

Maybe I'll mail Eagle sometime.

To answer your question on what's up with the next version and where's the team at now is quite simple. The team lacked some talent in finishing a couple things and Eagle wanted to start up his own gaming company, which had a shooter in production. With being fustrated with the game's limited engine. Certain concepts started to go down the drain. The demand for the game by it's fans allowed Eagle to make the last version of AA. Though a couple of months after the beta was released the team was done and site went down. A handful of us tried to jump start the mod one more time. But alas, it just wasnt enough. So that was the end of the great mod. Some changes that were in need of change was...

 

Cameos that need redone with the right name...

V4 Launcher-Needs renamed V3 Launcher... got the most approval at the old forums

Cruiser-Battlecruiser or Onslaught. Something other than Cruiser

Misslesub-Triton or Poseidon needs a name

Venom Ant-Needs changed from Giant Ant

Flame Trooper- Crimson Guard... got the most approval at the old forums

Flame Tank- Incinerator... got the most approval at the old forums

Ion Cannon-Phoenix Cannon... got the most approval at the old forums

Gattlin Trooper-Rattler...got the most approval at the old forums

 

Later on the changes I made were...

 

AA Healing-With the Military Academy infantry units now heal half as fast

Voice changes-Changed sounds to superweapons, airstrikes and some units

Gattling Trooper-Now has a anti-air weapon

Grenadier-Deals a tiny bit more damage and changed the projectiles image

Chaos Inductor-Effects don't last as long

Pelican-Rotor's now spin when idle and has a short sensor for subs.

AA Miner-Is a slave miner spawning drones until art is fixed.

Tank Reactor-Added one extra slot for unit to enter. Lowered max power for each unit.

Ryoko Fighter-A tiny boost to health/damage

Geomancer-Is able to become elite

Raptor-Has a Elite weapon now and it's stingers have a tiny boost in speed.

Squid-Wanted to grab aircraft when elite. Now fixed so he does not.

Dragonfly-Fires a laser bolt now.

Hyperion-Deals a tiny bit more damaged in later stages than before.

Pip-Fixed those dots you see while AA infantry is inside transports.

Flames-Move faster and deals some damage to heavy armored units.

Oil Truck-A voice is heard over map after the unit is created. Much like the demo truck.

Spitfire-can deal some damage to heavy armored units.

Phantom Tank-Added 30 points of health and weapon deal tiny bit more damage.

Warturtle-Deals a tiny bit more damage.

Drone Miner-Once free it acts like a tiny bomb to attack the enemy.

Thief-Changed the enter icon for some units the Thief wanted to steal

Venom Ant-Has a tiny boost in sight, speed, and ROF.

AI Scripts-Some miner fixes at this time

ASDF-You don't here them calling in MiGs no more.

 

And a ton of other things such as old units from the past that can be built or found in a crate (Such as Yuri units).

 

This was years ago though. I have made a manual and other such stuff for the next release if I ever did finish. But with so much to do and myself limited to time and talent, I had to stop. Many others that I did work with afterwards was a blessing. But it all just seem to die.

 

Though I still have eagle's ICQ number and E-mail I havnt heard from him in ages. He might be around, so I'll give him a buzz. But by all means if you want to pick up where the team left off go ahead. Eagle let myself and others try to get the mod going again. Good Luck if you guys do try this.

So he has given permition for other modders to finish the mod?

 

What about the campaign?I heard he was making a campaign, so I think you should know if he had some of the maps done.

From what I know he's done modding with ER. I'm sure he wouldn't mind if somebody pick it up and completed it. But with that you would still have to give credit to him and the team.

 

The campaign was going to be a upgrade if the mod was completed. We were going to rewrite scripts and such so you could play it. But that didn't happen.

Well, Nucl34r14 is reviving the mod,but I don't know what exactly he wants to do.Will you join?If you do,we could ahve a modding team readu very soon.

The main things that was needed is very talented artists. SHP, Voxel, Pics, and other fine tuning items that even I hit a brick wall at. Sounds and other minor things were a plus at the time but the team really didn't need that. With my time constraints now I don't really know how much help I could give. And with much of my knowledge about the do's and don'ts of the games engine faded, who knows how much difference I could make. If you guy can somehow restart a serious mod team. I would be happy to try help out in any way I can.

It's awful for us FANS !! Eagle come back here to release that last version missed! lol with all your team. What was a very good point in ER is the possiblity to play every technologie in skirmish with TECHWAR, network... "You can play any country and have all the tech existing in game, you play YURI : no you play every alliance : soviet,..." that's very enjoyable!

 

I would have liked to contribut, even to take part in the recontruction of a project aiming to release a new ER but trouble of skills and time also...

 

A certain day... ER AA will be completed! I'll be the first to play. Surething, if it comes, players come too.
