slondeau 0 Posted March 15, 2006 Hey all, I'm new here. I've been playing C&C off and on for years... most recently C&C: Generals. I just moved, and have no broadband, so I can't play America's Army, CS:S, or BF 2 anymore lol, so it's back to the good ole standby, C&C: Generals! I love this game. I have a few questions about it though.. I just built a new PC, and I have just reinstalled the game from the CD. I saw some patches were out, first, do I need to patch all the way up from 1.01 or w/e to 1.8, or will the latest have it all? Also, do I really need to update it? It seems to run fine, with no real issues, but again, I haven't played it a whole lot.. just a bit recently again. It's a fun offline game for me. I love to play the Skirmish mode the best. The other question was about the custom maps. Do I need a certain version, or can I just download and play? I like the big maps with lots of resources, (yeah, call me a noob, or w/e, but I like to build up a big army, and go destroy the computer army lol, it's gets hard though, just to survive the Brutal or even the Hard Army's charges to be able to get strong enough. What are some of the best custom made Skirmish maps? I looked at some of them, but they seem to be in a dated order, if any order. Is there a way to reorder the maps by download or popularity? Sorry for all the questions in my first post, if I should post those in the specific sub-forum, please let me know and I'll cut it from here and paste it there. When you get your Broadband up again ill have a go on ZH with ya....... dont go on before..... people with Dial-Up dont get any favours from me Patch it via the auto updater when you start online...... or you gota update it each update in order Custom Maps your fine to go, only prob is that you have all the bugs you can exploit. Meh, thats all the help i can give you. With the map thing, Just download the ones that seem good, Also map packs are normaly good. CnCNZ has a lot of good maps around just pick 'n' mix.
